in honor of Senior Citizen's Day (which was yesterday), 10 songs by artists who were/are rockin' at an advanced age.

Surely there are enough *living* seniors still making music that they didn't have to include dead people?

Interesting concept - does it mean older artists who are:

a) still putting out memorable material (Springsteen)

b) still able to put out a good show (i.e. the Stones)

It would appear a weird mashup of both those ideas, in that a lot of the tracks were "live" (indicating he was trying to pull stuff that was recorded after they turned 60 or 65 but was still familiar).  Johnny Cash's song was from his DefAmerican/Rick Rubin period.

Listening now... Props to DW for playing Macca's "Press" -- not an obvious choice.

I dug the country slant he gave to the first part of the set. And the Tony/Stevie duet on "For Once In My Life" was cool, too. The Macca tune qualified as a rarity, but it wasn't my fave song of the set. All that said, here's the list...

After listening to the entire set, I'm kind of puzzled at Macca's "Press" -- I think DW should have chosen a song from one of his album from the 2000s.

How about Wanda Jackson and/or Tom Jones?

I was thinking the same thing about that Neil tune. It's a song that was first released in the late 80s and that version is from (by his own admission) a Bridge School benefit from the mid-90s. He's done a lot of records since then -- one from his newest record with Promise of the Real would have had far more impact.
