Wonderful. I just posted (as guest in error) and know you can tell me this, what year was One Tin Soldier (Coven)?

oooh and 1969 Monday. I have a feeling we'll get something close to that from Dave today.

I'm guessing/hoping '68 or maybe even '67, since we did '69 on the 14th. But I have a damn 10am meeting so I'll have to wait unril the replay. Take copious notes, folks!

All of them.   :o

Coven charted three times with it: 1971 (#26), 1973 (#79), and 1974 (#73).  Also, "Original Caste" charted with it in 1970 (#34), though I've never heard their version.

Thanks for cleaning up my errors. I do remember the Orig Caste version getting airplay in late summer '69 in NY, but I guess maybe it didn't chart nationally until early '70. Coven's versions were tied to "Billy Jack" original release in '71 and re-release in '73... I think  the '74 version was a re-recording but I wouldn't swear to it.

My folks had the Original Caste 45, so that's what I listened to in my childhood.  They probably still have it somewhere.  Reminds me to get my dibs in, as they will be packing up & moving in the next year or so & probably giving away quite a bit of their stuff.
