My B-day is Sunday after next and PoC's is four Sundays later.  Would y'all be up for another BBQ fest at chez Castro Valley somewhere in between?

i thought we were meeting on april fool's day at reg's?

is that a done deal?  If so we can do another thing at my place later in the season.

Indeed, the April Fool bring-your-fave-comedy-records thing was intended to celebrate poc's natividad.  But since that's a no-room-for-kids situation, we can do that AND BBQ on a date of Urth's choosing.

hmmm...the lunch lady would work, too. she announces the menu for some building on capitol hill. when i lived in d.c., i'd call every day to listen to the recording. she makes minestrone soup sound like  party.

The KFOG morning show used to call up and put the message on the air. After a while it got old.

I'd suggest Keith David (very deep-voiced black actor; he does the Navy and UPS commercials -- what can Brown do for KFOG?).  Or James Earl Jones.

Gaz, did you mean Lil Jon the rapper or Stuttering John, the Tonight Show announcer and ex-Stern hanger-on?

At the very least, Dave is going to lose use of a whole bunch of bumpers. Wonder if he'll bring back Larry "Bud"? (Is Calvert DeForest still alive?)

Who else would make a fitting successor to DP? I'm drawing a blank so far....

I'm sure he's still got the Melman stuff on file, not to mention Monty Hall, who also hosted for a while. My guess is they'll get the guy with the "announcer voice" who does a lot of KFOG promos.

Have you anything to say about Tegan & Sara?  I've only heard the one song "Walking With A Ghost", which is now getting airplay on Live 105 & occasionally Channel 104.9.

The first time I heard it was back in November when I was in SoCal for our Disneylanbd trip, and it totally stopped me in my tracks because it just sounded so different (& since it is very repetitive the tune stuck in my head for weeks).  Sounds to me like one of those tunes that would have fit right in around 1986 on KROQ.

Little Steven has been playing a song of theirs called "Take Me Anywhere", quite a rockin' number which was his "Coolest Song on the World" some weeks back.
