And Happy B-Day Don Pardo! 87!!!

Y'know, when Don goes, he's takin' 10@10 with him...

At the very least, Dave is going to lose use of a whole bunch of bumpers. Wonder if he'll bring back Larry "Bud"? (Is Calvert DeForest still alive?)

Who else would make a fitting successor to DP? I'm drawing a blank so far....

I'm sure he's still got the Melman stuff on file, not to mention Monty Hall, who also hosted for a while. My guess is they'll get the guy with the "announcer voice" who does a lot of KFOG promos.

Have you anything to say about Tegan & Sara?  I've only heard the one song "Walking With A Ghost", which is now getting airplay on Live 105 & occasionally Channel 104.9.

The first time I heard it was back in November when I was in SoCal for our Disneylanbd trip, and it totally stopped me in my tracks because it just sounded so different (& since it is very repetitive the tune stuck in my head for weeks).  Sounds to me like one of those tunes that would have fit right in around 1986 on KROQ.

Little Steven has been playing a song of theirs called "Take Me Anywhere", quite a rockin' number which was his "Coolest Song on the World" some weeks back.

BOS2 to "Summer in the City," even though it feels like anything but.  This is such a great song it allows me to forgive John Sebastian for two songs I absolutely DESPISE, "Daydream" and "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind."

Ah but he wrote some other wonderful tunes, "Rain on the Roof" and "Six O'Clock" and "You're a Big Boy Now" and "Darling Be Home Soon" and...

I've never heard this Kinks song.  It's fab!

Little Steven plays a lot of early Kinks & early Who every week. it's been a revelation to me.

There are NO coincidences: "Lightning Strikes", which Klaus Nomi did in his stage act, which there are clips of in the docu I saw this weekend.

get yer kicks in '66 on the Sloop John B. I know this is based on an old Jamaican folk song, but I heard it (in the early '70s) as a Vietnam metaphor.

Saw Ray last night.  Fantastic stuff.

Glad you finally saw it; hope it was in a theater and not on DVD.

This weekend I saw 2 terrific docus -- Nomi Song, the docu about Klaus Nomi, which I highly recommend if it's still playing in NYC, and Inside Deep Throat.  Both films are interesting snapshots of their respective, overlapping eras.  Bonus: The organist at the Castro had the afternoon off, so they played Bowie's Low album before the Nomi film.

And Throat --- OMG! Wait'll you see what Andrea True looks like these days!
