now tell me about that redgrave clip!! inquiring embryos want to know!

She was always very political, and she was being burned in effigy outside the hall at the time.  Paddy Chaevsky is the one who dissed her afterwards.

imdb says that was in 1977, not '76.

wassup, dave?

indeed, Dave got his Oscar clip wrong today too.  Redgrave won the 1977 Oscar, presented in spring '78. Something must be going on with Mr Morey, methinks.

The rebuttal came from Paddy Chayevsky, who was presenting the Orginal & Adapted Screenplay Awards.

Paddy must be a hero to the New York Post.   :x

The late Mr Chayevsky was a hero to many -- he wrote Marty and Network among many other works.

hey - you travellers - is it better to fly into jfk or la guardia? i never remember. i know i can take the city bus from queens into manhattan. how do i get in from lga?

LGA is closer to Manhattan than JFK, but every time I'm going to NYC, it seems like the cheaper flights at the more convenient times are into and out of JFK. JFK is about a $45 cab fare to Manhattan (I think it's a flat rate deal.) Or Supershuttle is about $20. Busses/trains are even less.

Caution with SuperShuttle, though: they invariably stop at 4 to 6 other destinations before stopping at yours, resulting in a 1.5-2 hour odyssey through Manhattan.  Depending on how much gear you're packing, might be worth the extra bucks for the cab.  At least robbery there is on a one-to-one basis.

Indeed, a good point. I think my cab fare from LGA to Chelsea on a rainy weeknight at rush hour was 35 bucks.

BOS = the Dan

"Luckless pedestrians" = one of the best 2 word lyrics in all of rock history.

You read my mind!  that always sticks out whenever I hear this song. Have no idea what it has to do with the rest of the lyric, but still...

You don't?  The narative is told in the PoV of a sniper (a la Charles Whitman on the University of Texas clock tower).

speaking of, I wish Dave would play Elton's "Ticking" (from Caribou) in some future '74 set.

LaGuardia is closer if you're gonna take cab or bus; JFK has The Train to the Plane (I think) and that goes into Manhattan. I used LaG in Nov.

there are NO coincidences: my cubemate's radio is blaring KOIT (which is why I wear headphones), and they're playing Mr Cetera and Cher's "After All". or as I call them, "Cher et Cetera"

what was the one where Peter Cetera painfully tried to pretend he was Jamaican?  One of the most embarrassing singles I've ever heard, so much so that I've blocked it out.

I'm assuming that's Another Rainy Day in NYC, mon. (?)

And now, "50 Ways to Love Your Lever," though none of them are legal in Alabama as upheld by the Supreme Court yesterday.

Does that law apply to internet sales or just retail sex shops?
