Regional 10@10's across the time zones! / Yet another 10@10: "The Peak"

Today's 10@10EST goes all the way back to the '70s!  So far I've heard "Rock 'N Me" and "The First Cut Is the Deepest" (Rod's version).

EDIT: It's 1976!  And they're playing "Coyote"!  This one's for you, VWP.

I'm impressed to hear they go back further than '80.  I look forward to Friday's set, whatever it is.

Mr Damon is now -- officially -- very very weird. He was cute when he was in Oakland with short hair and clean-shaven. But the caveman look is just one of those affectations that make you say "WTF?" He looks like the type of guy who doesn't shower for days because he like his own, er, scent. I'm not surprised he's working on his second wife. That too shall pass. Is it now every American boy's dream to post his honeymoon pics on espn.com?

HM cuz I like it: "Cat People" by Der Bowie. I wasn't too keen on the movie, though. And considering it had a repeatedly naked Nastassia Kinski in it you'd think I would have liked it. But, no.

I just rec'd my belated xmas present from my sister, the DVD of "One From The Heart."  I don't think I've seen much if any Nastasia since then, but boy did she make an impression on me in OFTH.  I wonder if she's still as hot in this as I remember it?

I saw OFTH for the first time last year when the Castro revived it; I thought it was quite a disappointment, even though I love Tom Waits.

OK, if I can't enjoy this Human League track then I hate fun.  I never get tired of pointing out how clumsy that synth riff is, and yet I grin like a child every time I hear it.  And the lead-vocal tradeoff was an inspired arrangement.

Clumsy? it sounds downright out-of-tune, no? And yet it works. We are in complete agreement.

What's with all the damn Police lately? This is the second Police double-play in the last week. Once, fine but I'm sorry, this is not acceptable. Besides, they'd started sucking by this point. (Props to them for packing it in after this album though. Remarkable self-awareness on Sting's part.)
