go to:

www.everybodysmusic.com

where they have several channels -- All-Beethoven, Big Band, Classic Country and "Radio Kava", which is SJ Mercury News rock critic Brad Kava's personally programmed station. Just signed on to Brad's thing; eclectic to say the least!

The "Merchant" half of Merchant/Ivory (Room With a View, Howard's End etc) was 68:

KFOG's 10@10 / Tues 5/24/05 -- Bob Dylan's B-Day!
« on: May 24, 2005, 07:54:24 AM »
Dave sez it's a Dylan set, which kinda surprises me, I don't think they did this when he was 60 (and I wasn't here in May '91 for his 50th).  But when he's 64... they decide to do a tribute. Odd. Maybe KFOG has decided us geezers are a desirable demo.

In any case, I'd've loved to have heard mshray's "harmonica set".

I NEED this today. Musical comfort food.  CCR & Sly promised.

Meanwhile, the Drive's "Where Were You Then" page features 1977 and the comments from Driveheads (or whatever their listeners are called) are kinda sad:

http://www.wdrv.com/wwyw.php

half of them remember 1977 as a time when "we had to suffer thru all that horrible disco music" -- Jeez... let it go, folks.

and Dean goes country!  twice in a half-hour:

Hank Locklin, "Please Help Me I'm Falling"
Kenny Rogers, "Lucille"

Yee Haw!

Made it up to Twin Peaks area with literally seconds to spare.  Fine pyrotecnics as always, tho' I'd say the musical program was a tad less creative than last year.  Nicest surprise: Polyphonic Spree.  Most Inevitable Non-Format Song: "Let's Get It Started", filling the slot inhabited last year by "Hey Ya". Cutest Visual Pun: GREEN fireworks for GREEN Day.

I get MY '89 bonus track from Dean: Belinda Carlisle, "Leave a Light On". Good gawd I don't think I've heard this since '89.  Woulda made a nice breakout today, and I don't even like her solo stuff all that much.

But then you can listen to Haley Jones' final appearance on KFOG (she's leaving).
