Yay for a Depeche Mode song from 1990 that isn't Enjoy the Silence or Policy of Truth! (Not that either of those are bad songs, but...)

Sweet...Happy Mondays.  They remind me of the Soup Dragons.

Not a fan of the Black Crowes either, but at least I don't think I've heard this one before.

Looks like they're back to "shuffling the deck", marathon-wise. They did '94 first today (no loss to me), then '71, '87 and now the '77 "mystery set", with Pride to close.

I wish they wouldn't.  If I miss a set I don't know what time to wake up now.

LOL @ Annalisa's checklist!  (Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered...)

I was still in bed and too lazy to load my computer up  during the set, but BOS's to Timbuk3/Polyphonic Spree/Blur, and especially The Smiths!

Ooh, hts 106 played this "Get Over It" song all the time too...

After that clip I wish she would have played "Headline News" by Weird Al...

Is this Henley solo or the first post-reunion Eagles single? No BOS on this one, although I can appreciate the sentiment.

The Eagles...because I remember that their next single (Love Will Keep Us Alive) sounded nothing like Get Over It.

Can I just tell y'all how f***ing glad I was that I was living overseas for the entire OJ saga?

Good call.  I was in high school and when they announced the verdict, they stopped all the classes and they turned on the TV in the main room and we all piled in...  :P

BOS3 for Nick Cave!

And Hits 106 memory lane continues with REM.  One of their least overplayed hits, and one of their few songs I actually like, so BOS4

Wow...first the Meat Puppets and then Urge Overkill.  This is like Hits 106 (the old pop station I was referring to) memory lane for me today.  VHM

BOS to Meat Puppets!  My pop station played it all the time in 94...haven't heard it since, save for a few spins here and there on alt.

And who are these girls singing about a supernova?  I don't think I've heard it before, but it's pretty good, so I'll BOS2 it.

XTC gets a WOS.  This song shows a complete lack of respect for human willpower.

OK, you're gonna have to explain that...

Ok, time to get on my soapbox  ;)

The jist is that bad things happen in this world, so XTC can't believe in God.  So they're really not taking into account that the vast majority of unfortunate things happen because people themselves make decisions/actions that lead to them. (I know, the consequences of the decisions spill out to others too.)  Regardless of belief, if God/Yahweh/Allah/exists does that automatically guarantee that 100% of people's stupid decisions will be automatically overriden?  Somehow, I doubt it.

*steps off soapbox*

BOS2 to the Psychedelic Furs!  And that Pink Floyd song is one of the very few by them that doesn't make me want to rip all my hair out, so VHM to that too.

So far, yawn...but still I'm optimistic.  At least half the set to go.

Ooh wait, what's this... New Order?  Yes!   BOS  :)  Now the question is...is it the radio edit or the 5:57 version?

Great set!!

With the exception of LWIII (tacky) or Ben Harper (ZzZzZ), any of the songs could have gotten a BOS from me.  Y2K would have been a fine outro/interlude but it seemed like a terrible way to start a set, fortunately she more than made up for it with Moby/Gwen Stefani.  I know it was overplayed at the time but it never got old to me and ten years later it's good to see that it has its place in time! ;D  (It would have made such a good top of the hour cooker too.)

My next favorites (very close) are Sinead Lohan & Bruce Cockburn.

Hi everyone!

I moved to SF in Jan of 2008...and KFOG is the station I listen to the most. (I've been buying their Live from the Archives CDs online since volume 9.)  I discovered 10 at 10 in the evenings when I was listening to KFOG after school, when I heard a bunch of 80s songs in a row.  I noticed that they played 80s songs fairly often (But not every day) at 10 PM.  I have been obsessed with 80s music - people tell me they don't understand it as I was born in 1983, but there's something about it that just draws me in!  I gradually started paying attention to them saying "10 at 10" and figured the program was called 10 at 10.  I wondered if they played it in the morning too; I tuned into it one morning and sure enough, there it was.  Since then I've been listening religiously.

I am not a big fan of the 70s or 60s...I guess too far before my time...but I have found myself listening to some very interesting 70s sets more than once.  The 80s sets I find most interesting as there's many times when I hear a song I haven't heard in a really long time, or ever, and have found myself googling the lyrics to figure out what it is and then download the MP3.  At first I was excited to hear when a set was in the 90s but most of them, especially the ones 1994+ I have found a bit disappointing.  (Annalisa did do a killer 1999 though!)

Many of my friends comment how obsessed with 10 at 10 I am but they don't get it!  I thought I was the only one...then I couldn't believe it when I found this group.  When I saw the domain name '10 at 10 club.com' my eyes just about popped out of my head...  ;D
