VHM to Thomas Dolby.  I saw him in '06 at his first concert in 14 years but he didn't play my favorite, I Love You Goodbye!  >:(

BOS to Echo & the Bunnymen.  Not a mediocre song in the bunch so far!

Monday's off to a great start!  ;D

VHM to TFF (not BOS just 'coz I like Pale Shelter better.)

BOS'S to Michael Sembello & New Order!  I can't remember the last time I heard "Maniac" on the radio, though I have heard it at the grocery store a few times...

Most of these that I've read have been for school assignments, high school or college:

4. Lolita (Not this one... lol)
8. The Iliad / The Odyssey (Why are these counted as one?  The unabridged versions are tedious.  They should be separate or just nix the Iliad, that one was painful.)
9. Pride and Prejudice (For a good time, check out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies)
11. Canterbury Tales (Abridged)
14. Things Fall Apart (In a class called 'Intro to Postcolonial Literature,' one of the worst classes I've taken)
15. The Catcher in the Rye
18. The Great Gatsby
21. The Grapes of Wrath
23. Brave New World
32. Confessions of St. Augustine
35. The Lord of the Rings (My Mom used to read this to me at bedtime, lol)
36. Winnie the Pooh
37. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (I find it interesting how many people that I've known who shrivel up and/or get verbally defensive when someone mentions the word 'religion' loved this movie)
41. The Holy Bible (It was the NJK version though)
49. Hamlet
54. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
61. Animal Farm
62. Lord of the Flies (Yuck)
70. The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (I read this for fun but remember absolutely nothing about it)
74. Charlotte's Web
96. The Wind in the Willows

Al Gore's Macarena deletion gets BOS for me.  That was funny.

LOL.  I loved that too.  Although I would have to give her props for guts if she actually did play the Macarena.

BOS Garbage!  ;D (My other favorite overplayed Hot AC recurrent from this year.)

This was my very second CD (I bought it because I liked "Queer" and "Only Happy When It Rains" and was ecstatic when "Stupid Girl" got released to radio!)

and HM to Cake.

What A/C stations do you listen to that play Oasis and Garbage??

Most of the Hot A/C ones that I know of...I know Alice plays both of those quite a bit, then both of the ones in San Diego did (My 94.1/KSCF 103.7.) And Star 98.7 in LA played them before they flipped to the more alt. '98.7'(Although they're probably still playing them.) I don't listen to Star 101 that much but I wouldn't be surprised if they do either.

The Oasis song was also a fairly big pop hit, and those are notorious for becoming overplayed Hot AC recurrents especially if they're light enough.  Hot AC in general didn't play the Garbage song as much when it was out (just the more renegade ones did) but as years went on more and more played it as a recurrent.

WOS Brian Setzer over Phish.  I remember distinctly thinking back then when "Jump Jive N Wail" came out that big band does NOT belong in the 90s.  >:(

Digging today's set so far.  Though if I was in a different kind of mood it probably would annoy me.  Hard to explain.

Both of the overplayed Hot AC recurrents (Dishwalla and Oasis) are probably my 2 favorite overplayed Hot AC recurrents from that year, so no problem there  ;D

Yecch, Phish, especially that one.  The Phish news clip was kinda weird too :-\

Yay, BOS2 to my favorite song from 1986... West End Girls!  ;D

All in all this set is looking kinda overly mainstream though... :-\

VHM Joan Jett, this song cracks me up.  I like it because the lyrics are kind silly but everything about it is coordinated so well.

Yay, the set is picking up!  Still no BOS from my end but good enough to keep me listening now.  I'll admit I was amused by obscure prog rock x2.
