PG plays games.

French title "Jeux Sans Frontiθres" often mondegreen'd as "she's so popular."

Not sure if any of you are friends on FB with Mike Slavko better known in his younger years as M. Dung, but he seems to be in a bit of a bad way. Information here:

shoot, that sucks. BTW, I see that Dave Morey just gave him $100.

I hope she gets back in time to play a 1976 set on Tuesday the 10th of November, so that I can request (with help from y'all?) "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", since it will be the 40th anniversary of the actual event that day, and the song charted in '76.

EGG-sellent idea!

Wed 9/30/15: Walking

"Nobody walks in LA, but we can still play 10 songs about walking."

1. Walk This Way – Aerosmith
2. Walk On The Wild Side – Lou Reed
3. Walking On The Moon – Police
4. Walking On Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves
5. Walk Of Life – Dire Straits
6. Walk Like A Man – Grand Funk Railroad
7. Love Walks In – Van Halen
8. Walk On – U2
9. Walk Away – James Gang
10. I Walk The Line – Johnny Cash

I listened. BOS to old dude rawkers from GFR & James Gang. Like the Police song, too. I could've done without the U2 and Van Hagar.

Where was Missing Persons?  That would've been very welcome.  Missing Persons (singer Terry Bozzio with her hired players) played the Folsom Street Fair this past weekend (missed it) and she's the only one left from the original band(that featured her then-hubby Terry Bozzio on skins and Warren Cuccurullo on ax).

Holy crap, I completely missed this yesterday. (It was not my best birthday ever, due mostly to work clusterfuckage. However it ended nicely with drinks and some pretty fine cajun food. So not a total loss.) Thank you guys for remembering me on my day, and for reviving this aging thread!
All the best, sorry it hadn't o-curd to me sooner!

no whey, dude!

If that weren't enough trivia: I went and read that Wikipedia entry, then followed it to Justine Frischmann's (she being the band's singer) and found that she's currently married to a professor of atmospheric science at UC Davis, and lives somewhere in the Bay area. Who'd a thunk?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justine_Frischmann

Chicks dig geeks!

Interesting band. Justine was in Suede and she was dating the singer, Brett Anderson; She then dumped him, quit the band, and started dating Damon Albarn of Blur.

The band was sued by Wire and The Stranglers for plagiarism.  Settled out of court.   ("Connection" copied pretty obviously from Wire's "Three Girl Rumba.")

Also, they released singles in 93,94, and 95 but the album WITH those singles was dropped (aw, yeah.. dropped) in 95. Thus the strange dates of the chart action in my prev post.
