Dred had a sneak preview today, and I'm hooked.  The music is awesome.  Not just the usual nostalgic suspects.  He played a track so deep, the computer didn't even know what it was.  Eric Andersen's version of Fred Neil's "Other Side of This Life."

Now that I've got it programmed in iTunes to play the stream, I tuned in this afternoon, and they were playing "Supernatural" by Peter Green (John Mayall).  Wow.

We have tended to have KFOG on for breakfast during all these changes, as much as I dislike the music and DJ's.  I think this new change will finally put an end to that.  I think we'll be giving Dred Scott a listen on Monday morning.

another memory was a Frost Amphitheater.  He was on the side of the stage when Brent was doing one of the early versions of "Just a Little Light."  I think this was one of the best songs off of Built to Last.  It was great to see Barlow so involved in the performance of the song he wrote, singing along with the lyrics.

A big loss.  I remember meeting him once backstage, and for some stupid reason, couldn't say his name.  I knew who he was, but kept using other first names besides John.  I wasn't even stoned!  I think I even called him Bruce Barlow, the old bass player from Commander Cody's band!  Hard job to be the 'other writer' to Robert Hunter.  But he wrote some good ones for sure.
