and we’ll show you the
best possible way to experience a Limp Bizkit song (no, really!)

BONUS. Limp Bizkit – Take a Look Around (Instrumental)

heh. If I had to pick a best Limp song, it'd be "My Way", but it's a tough call.

From the uber-LN-y (Sly) to the merely hellish (Kid Rock). The least-appealing Summer set I've ever seen.

Gotta agree on this. I suppose BOS goes to the Ataris by default, if only because it gets played less often than the original.

Wow, I take *GREAT* exception to the Tom Jones selection -- his version of "Kiss" is awesome. The rest are pretty much crappy. (Tho' Neil D's "Heartlight" is a guilty pleasure for me, and "In the Ghetto" gets a pass for being from a different time)

Agreed on Jones. I honestly think "In The Ghetto" is one of the best songs Presley ever did. "Both Sides Of The Story" may have been a bit over the top, but I enjoyed it, and I've never understood the hate for RHCP.

I will say that the Sheryl Crow and Madonna covers were absolute embarrassments.

I don't know that I've ever heard this on the radio before.

I wouldn't go as far as saying "It's So Easy", but I did eventually realize the theme.

6/6:

On today’s edition of Soundwaves 10@10, we’ll hear the song VH1 called the 8th greatest rock song of all time,
the first single released by The Jacksons following their departure from Motown, and the Stevie Wonder song
that paid tribute to Duke Ellington.

That description makes no sense...

Is it in fact 1976?

EDIT: Playlist suggests mostly 1995 ("Vibeology" was really 1991/1992). Intern at the wheel at Soundwaves?

Huey Lewis has an instrumental?  Who knew...

To be fair, he does say "Slammin' " every so often during the track. Off of "Small World".

Stream of Consciousness / Re: Local (and other) radio news

So I've been playing my new game, "60s watch," checking in more frequently (but not necessarily
staying) with K-Fox (KUFX) and The Bone (KSAN) just to see if they're playing a '60s song.  More
so in the car, when I might otherwise have left the radio off.  (I have a short list that I anticipate
hearing.)

I guess you could say I did a double take today when both stations were playing Queen's
Another One Bites the Dust at the same time.  Thought I screwed up the radio presets
at first.  Amusing and sad.

I've had that happen with a couple of the classic rock stations here - although it's usually AC/DC or Zeppelin.

I noted  4 or 5 months ago that I was in the car one day and Live 105 and The Bone were simultaneously playing "When I Come Around" by Green Day.

In a similar vein, in about a thirty minute span today between the gym and Trader Joe's, I heard Hall-n-Oates' "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" twice.
