Title: Generic 10@10 FB Thread
Post by: Big Fingers McGee on December 09, 2011, 12:01:47 PM
I'm sure I'll get into trouble somehow, but hells bells. I've changed names to protect the guilty.

AL: Can you guess the year? (Link to "Back To The Future" (1985))

1st Respondent: 1987
2nd Respondent: 1985
AL: 2nd Respondent, you go to the head of the class!
Ferguson Pill: Can we have some rock-n-roll this time around?
Silly Foghead: Whatever you play it will be good. I love you AL!
Amy Lorrain: I don't do sets after 1980. Good luck.
Mark Simpson: How about some r-n-b this time. In My House - Mary Jane Girls or Part Time Lover - Stevie Wonder
Me: "Get It On (Bang A Gong)", Power Station and "Election Day" Arcadia. Minus one to "Kayleigh".
Susan Rachelle Wilson: 1985: Paul Young - EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY, John Parr - ST. ELMO'S FIRE, Simple Minds - DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME, Tears For Fears - SHOUT

Is Silly Foghead an amalgam of several different people? That's just what they do in the movies based on true events.

Silly Foghead is our nickname for a certain Mr Fisher. he's been kinda scarce lately but when this FB-request thing started he was kinda like AL's personal stalker, posting inane comments almost hourly and constantly pledging his love.  He occasionally has had rather creepy profile pics to boot.

Got it. I'm aware of the fellow. But the content of "his" post fits several currently more active posters, initials aside.

I'll try to zero in on him a bit more when I can think of something adequately creepy for him.

Elise Ensenada: "Walking On Sunshine" would be an awesome choice!
Scott Brookings: You MUST play "Can't Fight This Feeling". It was our prom song!
Godfrey Darwin: Posts link to REO Speedwagon video for "Take It On The Run".
Mark Simpson: This is our third trip to 1985 this month.

Miles Standish proud!
Congratulate me.
Seriously though, you should edit your previous posts to substitute Miles Standish for Mark "Fuhrman OJ" Simpson.
Also, has today's 10@10 thread disappeared from view for anybody else? Did someone delete it?

This is not my day. I was in there on my cell and accidentally hit the "delete topic" button. Thought I'd backed out, apparently I didn't. I'll send a note to the moderator.

LOL!  I was just thinking about the Generic Topic from the days of R&R and wondering when you'd start one over here.   ;D

LOL. I have one FB friend who does that, and she does it for every frigging thing she posts. I sure hope she 'wins' my White Elephant package tomorrow, featuring P.O.D. and Train.

Hey, are we doing a club White Elephant music exchange?  I've *got* to get rid of this Alanis ASAP!

How is this thread different from the other facebook thread?  Mind if I just merge them?

GG, it seems to differ in that it specifically refers to and parodies the Annalisa FB page requests. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the other FB thread mostly deal with non-10@10 and non-music topics?

BTW IE, I was only curious about whether others couldn't see today's 10@10 post; it's no big deal that it was deleted, AFAIC. We're "only human, born to make mistakes."

SG, I'd be psyched if either Party All the Time or Lay It Down were played on 10@10. Bow down before the lyrical genius of Stephen Pearcy:

You know you really want to lay it down
Right now
And how
I know you really want to lay it down
Right now

Lay it down
Lay it down
Lay it down
Lay it down

No big deal.  I just wanted to help.  It's pretty easy to merge topics if the need arises.

Justin Oliphantitis: “1985” from Bowling From Soup, “Save Me San Francisco” from Train and “Damn It” by Blink 182 Times.

Me: You do realize none of those songs are from 1985? And it’s Blink-182

Justin Oliphantitis: You would be a douche coming from San Francisco. Here in Boston we don’t worry about details on matters such as subway construction.
