Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci...
He looks like a still
But his personality is nil!

Strawberries!  Raspberries!  All those good things!

Every single line in this song is, like, an impressionable non sequitur!

Whee!  Gaz Got The Hits!  Thanks for the shout-out.  Ironic song title for my current situation, though -- "I'm Doin' Fine Now" ...   :)

NYC, "I'm Doin' Fine" -- a song in search of a 3rd verse but an all-time-fave nonetheless. Wonder how the Spinners let this one get away (or did Thom Bell hide it from them?)

Can you dig it?

Gaz, you should spend the weekend grazin' in the Central Park grass.

My guess is that Thom Bell was just writing too many hit singles at the time for the Spinners to tackle them all -- so he assembled a studio group to get that disc out as soon as possible.

I'll be playing softball tomorrow, probably stoned halfway out of my mind.

you're probably right, re: Mr Bell.  Imagine having too many great songs at once.

and per Messrs Wells & Canseco playin' stoned ain't necessarily a bad thang.

Wicky wacky!

speaking of Motown-period Isleys as Gaz was earlier -- "Behind a Painted Smile",  a wonderful single, even if it sounds like a 4 Tops castoff.

ab fab!

I was checking expedia for flights to London. Feeling bored. Thinking about jetting to London for Cream next week. Just fantasizing. Flights were unGODLY expensive! Damn. That would be such a lark. Just going for the show. ahhhh, to be wealthy and uninhibited.

DeBarge, "Rhythm of the Night". I hope someone writes a definitive book about their sad sordid history.

the CG rock show is playing some Paul Rodgers-as-Freddie with Queen ("We Will Rock You").  I had been reserving judgment, but ... no. Not impressed.  Mud on their face, big disgrace.

Far be it from me to encourage irresponsible behavior on the part of adults in the name of THE ROCK ... but have you checked into flying into a different city (or even a different neighboring country) and Metro'ing in?  I've never travelled in Europe but from what I've heard from expat and musician friends, where there's a will, there's a way.

Chech the US Airways weekly specials on international flights, if nothing else.

Cheers,
Gaz.
