Michael's spent the last 40 years trying to look more like Joe. And Joe's funny looking.
-
"Sultans of Swing" is more '78 than '79, no?

"hippest", not "in need of hip replacement" (left) or nose replacement (right).

I think maybe Dave meant to play something off of Communique, not "Sultans of Swing".
-

It was a big hit in spring of '79. I have vivid memory of it then.

According to Wikipedia:
It entered the American music pop charts in early 1979.

guess it's one o' those cuspy ones. But as mshray notes, Communique came out less than a year after their debut.

Ha! Actually, it peaked in late '78 so that actually increases the possibility she'll play it! ;)
I always stick around for the '79 bonus, since Annalisa loves to play "I Do the Rock".

Thanks. I'll soon be sipping pretty drinks in plastic cups poolside. Whadda day!

I don't want to start a ruckus, but if Dave justifies his selections based on charting, okay fine, play "Sultans", but how can he play the Clash tune in 1979, when the album was released on Dec 14, 1979, and very, very few people even heard this once in 1979? It certainly wasn't an advance single.

Let me add my birthday wishes for our #1 party girl, Ms. Alicat! Hope you have a great day by the pool! (It's raining here!)

This was one of those things that broke late in 78 (I gave it album of the year honors at a dinner at the local pizza parlor) but was initially kind of a cult thing, before it exploded. Just like Chambers Bros is clearly 1967 to me, but 68 in the rest of the country. KSAN played it (SoS) very early.
