Into hit #2 Sultans of Swing

I knew it was going to be 1978 from a promo I heard yesterday.

I used to have a tape that ended with this, except the tape ran out early.  In fact it ran out precisely after he sings, "Goodnight".

BOS to Andy Gibb and the #1 song of the year, "Shadow Dancing."  You could NOT get away from this in Pittsburgh at the time.

Didn't see that one coming, but I was hoping for some Stones from Some Girls, BOS #4 "Respectable."

Dave brought his A game today.  BOS3 to "Baker Street," with the obligatory nod to Raphael Ravenscroft.

Wow, not only a rare-in-this-day-and-age 3-way tie, but Todd was relegated to no better than 4th overall.  Hoodathunkit?

Dang, sounds like I missed a good one.  Radio reception was awful, so I pulled the plug half way through "Sultans...".  >:(

And I can't get away from it now -- 3rd time (on 3 diff stations) in a little over a week.  And another South Park reference for me.

TANC, or at least a nice bit of serendipity:

Yesterday was my wife's birthday, so we went out for a really nice dinner last night. We left the restaurant about 20 after 10 and of course I flipped on the replay in the car on the way home, just in time to hear Respecta-bowl. We're driving up Pine Street, and right after the Gerry Rafferty song starts, we cross...Baker St. I got a smile out of it, but Sarah thought I was just a geek.

When I came back from my first trip to London back in the '80s, at least 3 different co-workers asked me "So... did you go winding your way down Baker Street?"
