Damn -- everything's happening twice this week! Happy B-Day, bub! And that IS his correct addr, BTW.
-
Happy Hip-Day to the Airbrush!
Nice that it's 1973, too: my dear friend Victor's birthdate is 3/10/73.

Thanx All! 8)
Maybe I shouldn't have requested what i did... either a vertical tasting of #10s from 72-73 (as opposed to what we hear all the time, #1s) or, a 1985 set.
argh... just woulda been nice to have gotten a mention. c'est la vie...

True... I did send the email on the 8th, it was noonish or so but i guess i should've done it sooner.

You mean, songs that peaked at #10? That'd be an interesting mix.
-
Bah. 3DN became a lot less interesting when they gave up harmonies and turned into three solo leads (mostly Chuck) with minimal backing vox.

Not necessarily. When it was my wife's birthday in January, I emailed him after 9am the morning of her birthday and she got mentioned in the birthday club that day.
Hi gang, I'm back and typing like I have my hands wrapped in duct tape. Swamped with 1000+ emails, but glad to have a nifty 73 set to return to.
Had a great dinner with Gaz on Saturday in Greenwich Village, More later, but I gotta get caught up.
-
VHM for this little-played 3DN -- beats "Shambala", for sure.
-
at the wrong time! :(
Working too hard today, forgot to change stations until just now. HM, Dr. Hook.

Dr Hook, Dr John... hey they're all quacks anyway
"Right vein, wrong arm" -- oh those wacky '70s drug references!
BOS Mott -- "Honaloochee Boo-gee"!
-
BOS Honaloochie Boogie, Mott the Hoople.
Bummed that we missed Ian Hunter in NYC by one night.
-
BOS Mott the Hoople!
-
Co-BOS votes to "Right Place, Wrong Time" and "Honaloochie BOO-gie"!
-
P.S. The honaloochie refrain is "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)" sped up, I'm convinced. :)

Beej, can I borrow your tamborine?
-
WOO! BOS #2 The Sweet, "Little Willy"
-
And an HM for "Little Willy," which I'd never cop to having.
P.S. Best avatar of set = Beej's Cold-Meiser!
-
Beej, can I borrow your tamborine?
Sure! But they need me for "Little Willy"!
-
WOO! BOS #2 The Sweet, "Little Willy"
Dude! Sweet!
Beej, didja see the South park season premiere last nite? VERY weird, even for them.
-
P.S. Best avatar of set = Beej's Cold-Meiser!
Thanks! After I uploaded it I thought: "Hmm. Didn't Gaz have a Snow Miser avatar at one point? Oh, well..."
I smoke a lotta pot, you see.....

I did! It was a bit... off... or something. I dunno. I thought Garrison was happy being gay- but what do I know?
Sometimes I think South Park tries too hard. Last night felt like that at times. I did like Garrison at the end, though: "Hey, everybody! Who wants to pound my vag?!"
-
I've never heard this "surrender" song before. C'est Santana?
-
love, devotion, and surrender.
i love this set.
i am devoted to voting.
i surrender to a 10-way tie.
-
VHM "Abandoned Katrinette" -- where else would we ever hear this?
-
Oh, heck -- BOS3 to "Abandoned Luncheonette," H2O going arty instead of Philly.
-
VHM "Abandoned Katrinette" -- where else would we ever hear this?
Holy moly - Hall and Oates! Never heard this one before - it's so much better than what they turned into. Either that or it's a pretentious mess. Not sure which yet.
-
i'm on recording duty again tonight, if anyone wants a copy.
-
love, devotion, and surrender.

It's just devotion takin' me over,
Caught up in sorrow ...
-
VHM The Odd Couple
-
Nice! HM to a voice-overless "Odd Couple Theme"
-
I've never heard this "surrender" song before. C'est Santana?
C'est vrai. But Dave plays this often.
-
is it too early for marvin, gaz?
-
Voting for the Odd Couple BOS, in memory of Raztsy, because it used to drive him nutz when we voted for Tv themes...
Great set.
-
Damn! I think it's an 11-way tie including The Odd Couple. I'm not voting. No need to. Or is that heresy?
-
POC - NOT ONE WORD about me not eating a smooth, grooving banana. It's sufficiently late on this coast for me to get my swerve on.
-
i called dave to vote "best set of the year," and he answered the phone, "hello?"
-

too late! :)
-
is it too early for marvin?
Of course not. It can never be wrong, if your love is true!

I'd like to hear this back to back with Gregg Allman's version. I think Gregg has some arranging credit [Geoff looks at vinyl, and indeed, Jackson says "arrangement inspired by Gregg Allman."
