Second dose of disco in the set, a nice change of pace from the guitar rock that dominated last week's sets all around.

come on y'all and sing it with me!

Yikes, Vanessa Redgrave with a bigger Oscar "Sally" than, well, Sally.

See now, "Zionism" is one of those words that simply has no concrete meaning to me.  I've never had a grasp of what Vanessa Redgrave was arguing for or against.  But I hope the guy who followed her was enjoying the bubble he was living in.

BOS3 Billy Joel's fab "Say Goodbye to H'wood" (clever segue there). Would that Dave would play the Ronnie Spector version someday.

well, we don't have time for a dissertation on Zionism, but " the guy who followed her " was Paddy Chayevsky, author of Network.  And once again I do believe Dave has played that clip in the wrong year.

Just showed up.  BOS for "Dance on a Volcano", from Genesis when they were still pretty good.  Actually, I adored this album in college.  It's pretty damn good.

VHM for Serenade.

One of the few SM songs I can really get behind.  HM to "Serenade."  Predicting Four Seasons to close.

VHM America, asking to be turned out (!?!).  Sounds like the same slightly warped copy of this Dave always plays.

Had to Google this song to confirm that it was America.  Bustout to my world, and instant BOS.  Just the right touches of bubblegum.

It's been quite lovely, in fact -- '70s predicted for the coming weekend. What was it in NYC last night, like 10 degrees or something? (that's what they were saying on 'LNG anyway)

OK, not a bad 76 set but not a fantastic one, at least not on paper. But two bustouts (#9 & #10?), I believe so that's always a positive (we've heard the Billy Joel before, no?) And before I forget, a happy birthday to our ol' pal Mark--here's to ya, bro.

03/06/2007 - Tuesday! Good times in...1976!!

1.  Steely Dan - Caves of Altimira
2.  Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancin'
3.  Tom Petty - Breakdown
4.  Heart - Crazy on You
5.  Rose Royce - Car Wash
6.  Billy Joel - Say Goodbye to Hollywood
7.  Genesis - Dance on a Volcano (BEST OF SET!!)
8.  Steve Miller - Serenade
9.  America - Today's the Day
10.  Silver Convention - Get Up and Boogie

BONUS TRACK:  Bob Marley - Positive Vibration

The America may have been new to Gaz, but it used to be a Morey staple. Def not a bustout. Silver Convention... as I said earlier, if we've heard it before it was a good long time ago.

BOS Car Wash

I never saw the movie; did anyone ever actually run into an Indian Chief there?  I imagine Felipe Rose and his fellow Village People pulling up and joining in the sudsing.

(Gaz does the "circling fists as if scrubbing the air" dance, as no one here at Time can see me)

Co-BOS on the replay with the aforementioned.

"Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes; I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again."  Oddly, for me, that word's gotten easier to say in recent years.  I never thought it would.
