Seems kind of random to me, but if he's trying to appeal to the "went to high school in the 80s generation" he's right on target.

took a look -- yeah, he hit the obvious hits but also a bunch of nice obscurities (March Violets, Blue Room, Lick the Tins)

BTW John Parr was from St Elmo's Fire which was not a Hughes project, tho' it shared some of the actors.

Yep, I realized that when I was googling Hughes a bit later this morning. St. Elmo's Fire was def. a brat-pack film, just not one from Hughes. My bad.

So DW says in the backsell that "today is the 30th anniversary of both "Ferris Bueller's..." and "Pretty in Pink" -- that must have been a misstatement as the former came out in June and the latter in February. But both were released in '86, so yes, they're 30 years old this year.

And he did dig a bit for selecting the songs for the set, so can't fault him there. Just wondering why no love for "16 Candles?"
