"Music", John Miles (which happens to be mentioned in that Joel Selvin article in today's Chron).
"Rock'n'Roll I Gave You the Best Years of My Life" Mac Davis (?)

I'll think of more.

KISS MAH GRITS!

(that wasn't directed at anyone, of course. I just wanted to add something to the conversation and Alice was a fave TV show of my early teen years).

Carry on!

where's eddie rabbit in our 10@10?

My roommates & I were driving home from a party on Thurs night & they had The Bear on the radio as usual. "Driving My Life Away" was heard.

At that point, however, our windshield wipers weren't slappin' out a tempo because it had stopped raining.

You mean Joe Walsh's "Indian Summer"?

Meanwhile, BOS to the Jefferson Starship, "Runaway."  I spent the whole weekend listening to Red Octopus due to a visit from the great (and unrequited) love of my life, through whom "Miracles" and "There Will Be Love" derive much of their meaning in my life.

Still don't know why Marty Balin channels Tina Turner on the bridge of this one, though: "sun is comin', and it's gettin' wow-mahhhhh ..."

The Bear is the Bay Area's country western station. I forget the call letters. My roomies and I like to pretend it's run by big, hairy gay men.

Oh, I don't know. It's not exactly a well-known term unless you're gay or, well, worked at a gay magazine for a few months.

And don't call me 'Shirley'. Heh.

Best Shop Name Ever:

commercial on Starpoint radio for a record store called "The Vinyl Resting Place". That's even better than Nick Hornby's "Championship Vinyl".
