I'll guess '90s again. Sooner or later I'll be right. We've had two more-than-decent sets so far this week, so we're due for some DC-style crappiness.
Oy: it's 2000 -- nice start with Johnny Cash's Brooooce cover, but I may not stick around for the rest.
-
TOTHK - Johnny Cash "I'm On Fire" - 2000

U2 "Walk On"

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? New Yawkers into Hootie and the Blowfish "Use Me"
-
Who Wants To Be a Millionaire --> Hootie's "Use Me" cover. Heh.
-
Coldplay "Yellow"
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! uber-uber-LN Coldplay. It's "Yellow", but it hasn't mellowed.
-
Charles M. Schulz dies into Joe Satriani "Until We Say Goodbye"

-
RIP Charles Schultz --> Satriani -- don't remember this getting tons of airplay but I could be wrong.
-
Coldplay into Satriani...Hmm, intentional?
-
Enya "Only Time"
-
Snoozier still: Enya. Didn't this get airplay a year later, after 9/11? Or am I confused?
-
Fastball "You're An Ocean"
-
Fastball "You're An Ocean"
VHM -- nice to hear, actually.
-
Snoozier still: Enya. Didn't this get airplay a year later, after 9/11? Or am I confused?
Yes, although I think it was already in the 20's on the pop chart before 9/11.
-
Paul Simon "You're The One"
-
VHM Paul Simon -- one you never hear.
-
Tracy Chapman "It's OK"
-
Tracy Chapman -- not a fave of mine, obviously, but also not overexposed. This has not been your typical DC-style LN-fest, Coldplay notwithstanding.
-
Traffic into B.B. King & Eric Clapton "Riding With The King"

-
Traffic into Eric Clapton & B.B. King "Riding With The King"
close to an LN2, as this still gets KFOG airplay, but overall I'd give this set a solid B.
-
This set gets credit for having hardly any LNs, but it was a total snoozefest.
-
overall I'd give this set a solid B.
Did you turn into Big Fingers McGee? ;)
-
What would you like to hear in a 2000 set?
-
Renee: 3-way tie for BOS between Coldplay, Enya and Eric Clapton/B.B. King
Followed by Renee playing Alanis' "Ironic"...
-
What would you like to hear in a 2000 set?
I don't hardly have a 2000 wish-list -- I tried to get AL to play "Sex Bomb" by Tom Jones" but that's about it. Which is probably why I gave this set a pass, because my expectations were low.
well, OK: Christina Aguilera "What A Girl Wants" would be nice. But we avoided the likes of Santana, 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, Vertical Horizon, Creed...
-
What would you like to hear in a 2000 set?

"Dance With Me", Debelah Morgan
"Optimistic", Radiohead
"Limp", Fiona Apple
"Kryptonite"
"Loser"
"Duck And Run"
"Be Like That", above four from 3 Doors Down. I really don't understand why they're hated to such a degree - part of the "No, they're not necessarily awesome, but there is no reason in my book to despise them" club.
"Burning Down The House", Cardigans f/ Tom Jones
"Tonight And The Rest Of My Life", Nina Gordon

"Heavy Things", Phish (also in KFOG's rotation for a bit)
"Mixed Bizness", Beck
-
overall I'd give this set a solid B.
Did you turn into Big Fingers McGee? ;)
I wouldn't necessarily disagree with the "B" - as has been pointed out, not a lot in LN-land, but not a lot of "Hey!" either.
