I might not be around for this one, so take copious notes!

From the sweeper: "In honor of the Olympics, the year Table Tennis became an Olympic Sport." Which would suggest 1988.

I was gonna make my '85-or-'86 guess again (it's been a while for both) but '88 it is. VD tomorrow, tho', for sure.

TOTHK: Percy and his long one, er, "Long Cool One"
-
VHM Percy but WOS1 Poison. Every set has its crap.
-
Dukakis/Bush election ads --> "Kokomo" (!?!) WOS2 one of the all-time HFHs. Please spare us Bobby McFerrin today.
-
Neil Y "This Note's 4 U" VHM, tho' it's hardly rare
Stealth fighter --> Maxi Priest's cover of "Wild World" -- BOS1

Might Maxi Priest be a bustout? I don't know that he's ever appeared.... even with "Close To You".

uber-LN U2 feat BB King.

I wanna say Dave played it but I don't have time to look right now. I'd *love* to hear "Close to You" in a 1990 set.

VHM Siouxie, "Peek-a-Boo"

I never grow tired of this one.

Renee's been into odball cover versions of late: BOS2 Fishbone's take on "Freddie's Dead"
-
Chris Rea, "Workin' On It"

The Waterboys - We Will Not Be Lovers

:(

A Waterboys song that isn't "Fisherman's Blues" to close it out.

And this is a positive sign. Even if it results in the occassional Sister Hazel cover, it sure beats hearing "Roll With It" (as much as I enjoy the song) yet another time.

1. Tall Cool One - Robert Plant
2. Every Rose Has It's Thorn - Poison
(Dukakis/Bush campaign commercials)
3. Kokomo-The Beach Boys
4. This Note's For You - Neil Young
(News: Stealth bomber)
5. Wild World - Maxi Priest
6. When Love Comes To Town - U2/BB King
(Movie: Rain Man)
7. Peek-A-Boo - Siouxsie And The Banshees
8. Freddie's Dead - Fishbone
9. Working On It - Chris Rea
10. We Will Not Be Lovers - Waterboys

I second that emotion. And the '90s/'00s are chock-full of tribute albums from which to pull such gems.

My good/necessary ratings:
1. D/B
2. F/B
3. C/B-
4. F/D
5. C-/A-
6. B/C
7. B-/A-
8. A/A-
9. B/B+
10. A/A
I think this is one of Renee's best late 80s sets. It was pretty varied with a mix of hits and obscurities from different formats, had almost no KFOG staples or LNs (the BB King/Neil Young were the closest, but even those aren't that overplayed), wasn't overly snoozy, and didn't have a trainwrecky flow like 2003 last week.

Although I would disagree with your 'good' rating on the first couple of songs, in general I'd concur. The fact that only one song is below-average in the necessary component is revealing.
What was the general Snipe feeling about this?

What was the general Snipe feeling about this?
FP was rather pleased, despite not knowing who Fishbone are.

What was the general Snipe feeling about this?
They seemed pretty upbeat. No comments saying the set was bad, although no one commenting that it was outstanding.

What ended up with BOS?

I believe it was Poison.

Venereal disease...? Uhhh... okay. I nominate Procol Harum's A Souvenir of London.
(Now that I've said that, CapnJack will probably have a set ready for us tomorrow.) :)
