I'm gonna stick with my '70s prediction (unless RR really is trying to do a Super Bowl thru-line this week).
ETA: 1986. Jeebus.
But this Stranglers track, "Ghost Train" is a rarity, methinks.

Don't think the 49ers won a Super Bowl this year (or 1987)...

The Fabulous Thunderbirds "Tuff Enuff"
Just heard this on The Arrow's 10@10... ::)

-
Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer"
Also heard on today's 10@10 set on The Arrow... ::)

This song is a real sledgehammer for me.

hoping to hear When Smokey Sings

Peggy Sue Got Married --> the uber-uber-LN of all time, "Don't Dream it's Over". Gawd.
-
hoping to hear When Smokey Sings
from your mouth to Pugh's ear.
-
Steve Winwood "The Finer Things"

Can't decide if "Finer Things" by Winwood is LN or not. Probably not -- at least it isn't "Higher Love".
-
Reagan / Iran-Contra into UB40 "Rat In Me Kitchen"

Ronnie apologizes for Iran/Contra.
BOS UB40, making their 2nd appearance this week. "Rat in mi Kitchen" was a bit of a Moreytrina but beggars can't be choosers.

Is this real reggae? Because I think I don't like real reggae, and I like this. (It was on heavy rotation for me back then -- must've been all the stuff I smoked.)
-
Genesis "Throwing It All Away"

WOS Genesis. You know I know, baby: feh.

you need to listen to the KPOO reggae show tonite, 8-11.
-
New Order "Bizarre Love Triangle"

LN-ish, for sure: New Order.

yeaaaah, I don't see that happening. ;)
I did go to KPOO benefit at the Boom Boom Room last Saturday, though.... Bought a t-shirt and met JJ On The Radio!

No, they're British. ;)

Queen "One Vision"
Almost included a Queen track in my 1991 set, but it missed the cut at the last minute.
-
Queen "One Vision"
I was thinking The Cult for a second.
-
OMFG: uber-BOS2 Queen, "One Vision" Second Queen rarity of the day (see the Peak's 1991 set earlier). Nice way to close a mostly "meh" set.
-
1. The Stranglers - Ghost Train
2. The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff
3. World Party - Private Revolution
4. Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
(movie: Peggy Sue Got Married)
5. Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over
6. Steve Winwood - The Finer Things
(Reagan says "Mistakes Were Made" without irony)
7. UB40 - Rat in Me Kitchen
8. Genesis - Throwing it All Away
9. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle
10. Queen - One Vision
-
Renee: BOS The Stranglers; VHM Queen
-
uber-LN1: Fab T-Birds, "Tuff Enuff"
It's not my favorite song, but I don't hear this on KFOG anymore.

I wouldn't call this real reggae; it has that Euro thing grafted on to it.

uber-LN2: PG, "Sledgehammer"
One of the most over-exposed songs of the last thirty years that by itself raises the LNQ
of a set into the stratosphere.
-
Peggy Sue Got Married --> the uber-uber-LN of all time, "Don't Dream it's Over". Gawd.
It's a lovely song that was used to good effect in The Stand. But it's on its way to being
spoiled by too many spins.
-

It may not be a 10@10 FF, but it's still LN. This set has a very high LNQ.
