Title: 26 Dec 2013: it's... 1967!
Post by: RGMike on December 26, 2013, 09:56:08 AM
Hoping for '60s or '70s.   This morning around 6, they played the Doors' "Peace Frog" and Paul Simon's "Kodachrome" within 10 minutes of each other and I thought that rather odd, demographically speaking.

and lo, as I type this we're getting Neil's "Old Man"

Yay: '67!  Cream, "Tales of Brave Ulysses" TOTHK

If 6 were 9, then 69 would be 96. That wouldn't be as much fun.  BOS1 Jimi.

2013-12-26 - Thursday! The Doors earn a lifetime ban from the Ed Sullivan show after singing the original lyrics "Light My Fire."
(They agreed to take "higher" out of the lyrics, but didn't.) It's 1967 today on 10@10.
 1. Cream - Tales Of Brave Ulysses
(News: British/Spanish protests of the Vietnam War)
 2. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - If 6 Was 9
 3. James Brown and The Famous Flames - Cold Sweat - Part 1
(TV: Star Trek - Kirk versus Spock)
 4. Spencer Davis Group - I'm A Man
 5. The Doors - 20th Century Fox
 6. The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset
 7. The Monkees - Pleasant Valley Sunday
(Commercials: Yardley Slicker lipstick / Yardley Black Label aftershave / Screen Gems outro)
 8. Bee Gees - New York Mining Disaster 1941
 9. The Hollies - Carrie Anne
10. The Cowsills - The Rain, The Park & Other Things

What got BOS?

What got BOS?

I listened this time...

7. The Monkees - Pleasant Valley Sunday

I note that four of these songs were played on the June 12th 1967 set, as well as a different
songs by the Spencer Davis Group and Cream.  I have the Cowsills 45, but it came in a plain
MGM sleeve.
