Title: 10 Dec 2013: it's... a "classic" from 1977
Post by: RGMike on December 10, 2013, 08:59:20 AM
Nay-Nay on vay-cay-cay in Florida all week. (Visting her relatives who watch Fox News all day).  I wouldn't even wish that on, er, her.

ah, '77 -- starting with Meatloaf by the dashboard light.

**SPOILER ALERT**

Quote
10/9/13 - Wednesday!  It's 1977

1. Meatloaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Light
2. David Bowie - Heroes
3. Steve Miller - Swingtown
4. David Dundas - Jeans On
5. Boz Skaggs - Lido Shuffle
6. Meco - Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band (2-way tie for BOS)
7. James Taylor - Traffic Jam
8. Elvis Costello - Watching the Detectives (2-way tie for BOS)
9. Doobie Brothers - Livin' On the Fault Line
10.Ram Jam - Black Betty

Fairly uninspired, IMHO

I remember being underwhelmed the first time...

One of the better Doobs tracks though.  BOS.

I'd be curious as to how KFOG decides which 'classic' to run. Recent history suggests an algorithm related to the thickness of socks the substitute DJ is wearing.

Pre-DC, I felt that not much thought was given, though occasionally there was a theme set that Dave got requests for (I think there was a "horn section" set that ran 3 or 4 times).  I used to joke that they ran '90s sets when Dave was out sick because he hated doing '90s sets.  More recently it seems they pick sets that would make the Cumulus suits happy.
