LBJ doesn't seek reelection into The Byrds "Ballad Of Easy Rider (Wasn't Born To Follow)"

It's just Wasn't Born To Follow; the Ballad Of Easy Rider is a different song.
Both were on the soundtrack of the movie.

One of the problems I have with many of RR's '60s sets is the feeling that they're just a collection
of songs from that year with no overall cohesion or flow.  Despite getting that sense again today,
this is still a pretty good set, and not just because 1968 is such a strong year.  We got two
excellent bust-outs (Dear Doctor and Wasn't Born To Follow), and except for the Amboy
Dukes, everything else has only appeared on 10@10 two or three times.  So the LNQ of this set
is very low.  The one nit I would pick would be with the clips.  1968 was such a momentous year
with so many notable news events, that unless one is intentionally doing a "news free" set, it
seems like a serious omission not to include some.  Nor do I think it is necessary that every cliip
lead to a clever segue into the next track.  Sometimes a clip can just be a clip.

My personal favorite today was Wasn't Born To Follow.  I really like the part of Easy Rider
where that song is used.  The 255 character limit to signatures on this board prevents me from
using some of my favorite quotes there, including a couple of stanzas from this song.

"Oh I'd rather go and journey
 where the diamond crescent's glowing,
And run across the valley
 beneath the sacred mountain
And wander through the forest
where the trees have leaves of prisms,
And break the light in colors
that no-one knows the names of"
-- The Byrds, "Wasn't Born To Follow" (King & Goffin)
