for the return of Standard Time this weekend. 2 Theme sets in a row: unexpected but welcome.
-
Hmm... a slightly new intro...
TOTHK "Time Warp"
-
was that a new opening -- even shorter?
BOS the "Time Warp", of course.
-
BOS Time Warp !!
-
Tears For Fears "Change"
-
The Bravery "Time Won't Let Me Go"
-
The Bravery "Time Won't Let Me Go"
NTM and completely generic, to my ears.
-
The Rolling Stones "Time Is On My Side"
-
The Rolling Stones "Time Is On My Side"
BOS2, tho' "Out of Time" woulda been even better.
-
Back To The Future into INXS "Not Enough Time"
-
she should play Velvet Underground's "Sunday Morning," because that's when the time change actually happens
-
LN: INXS
-
she should play Velvet Undergrpond's "Sunday Morning," because that's when the time change actually happens
if only!
-
New 10@10 sounder into David Bowie "Changes"
-
LN2: ch-ch-ch-changes.
-
The Bravery "Time Won't Let Me Go"
NTM and completely generic, to my ears.
KFOG played this quite a bit back in 2007. Features a shoutout to Bryan Adams, "I never had a Summer of 69' ". I like this and their HAC hit "Believe" from the same album.
-
Depeche Mode "A Question Of Time"
-
DM, "Question of Time". VHM and proxy of Gory.
-

shows how little attention I was paying to their currents back then (or how little play it got on the Morning Show).
-
"I Didn't Know What Time It Was" (sung by ?) into Yes "Changes"
-
Yes "Changes"
Oy vey. WOS, easily.

It was a FF on "New Releases Thursday", when they would dedicate a two hour block for that purpose. I wish that would come back.

Yes "Changes"
Oy vey. WOS, easily.
Being a BIG Yes fan, I like it. :-)
Although it's not as good as basically any of the songs on 'Yessongs' however...
-
Hootie and the Blowfish "Time"
-
Hootie, "Time". I'm suddenly longing for Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time"...
-
From the Bowie on (good song, but an exceedingly obvious choice) this set has taken a marked dive. Props to Renee for two consecutive theme sets, but her picks in this one could have been far better considered.
-
The Airborne Toxic Event "Sometime Around Midnight"
-
While I like some of their material, WOS Hootie.
-
TATE for MOA (Most obnoxious acronym). “Airborne Toxic Event” sounds much much better.
-
The Airborne Toxic Event "Sometime Around Midnight"
This seems like a Cumulus pick to me.
Nice start, weak finish.
-
Renee: 2-way tie for BOS between The Rolling Stones and
TATE The Airborne Toxic Event

so it's "The" Airborne Toxic Event, just like it's "The" 10@10? ;)
-
"The" does look official:

I don't have an issue with the word "The", it's the silly acronymn, TATE. The Airborne Toxic Event, not TATE. Contra Costa County, not Coco.
-

2. Tears for Fears - Change
3. The Bravery - Time Won't Let Me Go
4. The Rolling Stones - Time is on My Side
5. INXS - Not Enough Time
6. Depeche Mode - A Question of Time
7. David Bowie - Changes

9. Hootie and the Blowfish - Time
10. The Airborne Toxic Event - Sometime Around Midnight

Agreed, it's silly. Besides, while "the" is always included in conjunction with their name, grammatically it's an article, not part of the name. If they wanna use an acronym, they should be ATE.

-
"I Didn't Know What Time It Was" (sung by ?) into Yes "Changes"
Surely that was Frankie from Hoboken...
-
"I Didn't Know What Time It Was" (sung by ?) into Yes "Changes"

It definitely wasn't Sinatra...

Well, it sounded like The Chairman to me. My next guess would be Andy Williams, but that's
just a guess.
