oy. Expect the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.... Chumbawumba...
-
TOTHK - Foo Fighters "Monkey Wrench"
-
TOTHK - Foo Fighters "Monkey Wrench"
a worthy TOTHK, IMHO. AL would approve.
-
Seinfeld into Green Day "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)"
-
uber-LN1: Green Day, "Time of Your Good Life Riddance", which KFOG plays 87 times a month.
-
Natalie Imbruglia "Torn"
Charted in '98, of course...
-
Natalie Imbruglia (sp?), "Torn". Another one that's in KFOG rotay.
-
Time of Your Life: falls under the category of "Songs that should not be played on 10@10, ever."

oh my yes. I'm tempted to check Tune Genie to see how many times it showed up in the last 48 hours.

This is evocative of the time -- well, 1999.
-
another uber-LN:
Wallflowers Matchbox 20. Jeezus.
-
Matchbox 20 "3 AM"
-
Time of Your Life: falls under the category of "Songs that should not be played on 10@10, ever."
I disagree, but mainly because there is very little from '97 I want to hear anyway.
-

20 Match WallBoxing Flowers?
-
Good Lord: SmashMouth too? It's an LN-fest today.
-
Smash Mouth "Walkin' On The Sun"
-

I don't think these years (actually anything between late '80's and early '00's) suck, but the lack of stretching out by 10@10 does. But that's not exactly a new idea on this board.
-
Jonny Lang "Lie To Me"

Agreed -- '97 is above-average, as '90s years go (and we did get "MMMMBop" recently) but sticking to the KFOG playlist for songs we hear constantly is a drag.

Madeleine Albright becomes Secretary Of State into Loreena McKennitt "The Mummers' Dance"
-

This should be framed in Pugh's office.
-
Loreena McKennitt "The Mummers' Dance"
I always liked this. better her than Sarah McLesbian. BOS.

I like it too.
-
LN-infinity: Blur. woo-freakin-hoo. well, at least it's short.
-
Blur "Song 2"
-
LN-infinity: Blur. woo-freakin-hoo.
It's not Damon's problem.
-
I like the Loreena McKennitt song too. It had risen up the pop chart with Will Smith "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It," but I was mad that McKennitt hit #13 and took a nosedive whereas Will Smith kept on going up.
But most of this set is worse than the average DC-era late 90s set.
-
Heaven's Gate suicides into The Wallflowers "One Headlight"
Here's your Wallflowers, RGMike ;)

LOL! I just now realized I mistook Matchbox 20 for them. Hilarious. And also sad.

Yes. Why can't the electronica/rock hybrid of this period (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, for example) make an appearance? It was on the radio a lot, and I don't think it would freak out too many KFOG listeners.
-
Steve Earle "Telephone Road"
-
Steve Earle "Telephone Road"
By this point this just sounds out of place.
-
BOS2 Steve Earle, "Telephone Road" -- the only other non-LN here. Well at least we avoided the Bosstones and Chumbawumba. But we got every other possible LN methinks.

Chemical Brothers "Setting Sun" (featuring Noel Gallagher of Oasis on vocals) and Prodigy "Firestarter" would fit nicely in a '97 set.
-
"The great Steve Earle... who we only play when he's in town for Hardly Strictly"
-
Renee: BOS Loreena McKennitt; VHM Foo Fighters/Green Day/Steve Earle
-
BOS, Jonny Lang.
*ducks*

BOS, Jonny Lang.

I'm sorta indifferent to him, and I wouldn't really call that song an LN either. But we got 5 really egregious ones and another (Natalie I.) that I'd call borderline.
