Time of Your Life: falls under the category of "Songs that should not be played on 10@10, ever."

This is evocative of the time -- well, 1999.

I disagree, but mainly because there is very little from '97 I want to hear anyway.

I don't think these years (actually anything between late '80's and early '00's) suck, but the lack of stretching out by 10@10 does. But that's not exactly a new idea on this board.

Agreed -- '97 is above-average, as '90s years go (and we did get "MMMMBop" recently) but sticking to the KFOG playlist for songs we hear constantly is a drag.

This should be framed in Pugh's office.

I like the Loreena McKennitt song too. It had risen up the pop chart with Will Smith "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It," but I was mad that McKennitt hit #13 and took a nosedive whereas Will Smith kept on going up.

But most of this set is worse than the average DC-era late 90s set.

LOL!  I just now realized I mistook Matchbox 20 for them.  Hilarious. And also sad.

Yes. Why can't the electronica/rock hybrid of this period (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, for example) make an appearance? It was on the radio a lot, and I don't think it would freak out too many KFOG listeners.

By this point this just sounds out of place.

BOS2 Steve Earle, "Telephone Road" -- the only other non-LN here.  Well at least we avoided the Bosstones and Chumbawumba. But we got every other possible LN methinks.

Chemical Brothers "Setting Sun" (featuring Noel Gallagher of Oasis on vocals) and Prodigy "Firestarter" would fit nicely in a '97 set.

I'm sorta indifferent to him, and I wouldn't really call that song an LN either. But we got 5 really egregious ones and another (Natalie I.) that I'd call borderline.
