I'm going to throw out a random guess: 1982.
-
eeek: 1999. Santana -- shocker. ;) I'm wishing it wasn't, actually.

If 9 was 6

TOTHK - Santana featuring Eagle-Eye Cherry "Wishing It Was" - 1999

I like this song. One of the better collaborations, along with Michelle Branch.
It's certainly aged better than this awful song from Sugar Ray.
-
Sugar Ray "Every Morning"
-
Oy vey: Sugar Ray -- uber-uber-LN; this is in regular KFOG rotay.
-
Dead air?
-
A non-FF, but somewhat annoying, Cranberries song.

Somewhat, but I'll give Renee credit for something from them that rocks, rather than the warbly hits.
-
The Cranberries "Promises", as KFOG is back on the air
-
Stone Temple Pilots "Sour Girl"
-
Stone Temple Pilots "Sour Girl"
Well, this was certainly one they were playing in '99. Expecting the Dandy Warhols any minute. And I agree that Cranberries tune was annoying, even if it was a rarity.
-
BOS Toy Story.
another onetime KFOG staple: Guster, "Barrel of a Gun"
-
Toy Story 2 is BOS so far. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be topped.

Guster's a good band. I love "Ruby Falls". This song is fine though unremarkable.
-

Agree, though I was excited to hear something unfamiliar for about the first thirty seconds.
-
Toy Story 2 into Guster "Barrel of a Gun"
-
Cranberries are really well named. They leave a tart taste in my mouth.
Not so Sour Girl, which I think is just sweet as pie.
-
JFK Jr plane crash.
-
Sounds like Collective Yawn, though I haven't heard this one before. Better than their average.
-
JFK Jr plane crash into Collective Soul "Heavy"
-
didn't recognize the song after JFK Jr; but sheesh: uber-uber-LN the Foos.
-
Foo Fighters "Learn To Fly"
-
didn't recognize the song after JFK Jr; but sheesh: uber-uber-LN the Foos.
I can see how you and others would think of this as an annoying FF, but I have pleasant memories of it from the time, so it's my BOS.
-
didn't recognize the song after JFK Jr; but sheesh: uber-uber-LN the Foos.
It does seem awfully redundant after the straight-ahead rock and roll of the previous Collective Bowl song. Though I do like this one.
-

true, but it's a pretty decent pop rock song. I'm not a big fan in general, but I like this'n.
that Kennedy crash -- oy, I just read the NTSB account:
http://www.ntsb.gov/aviationquery/brief.aspx?ev_id=20001212X19354&key=1
he had no idea where he was, just flew down into the ocean.
-
WOS: RHCPs.
-
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Around The World"
-
WOS: RHCPs.
I'll give it an HM. Not nearly as annoying as their later songs. But why does it sound so tinny? Like an AM radio.
-
The Offspring "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
-
WOS: RHCPs.
But Flea is such an awesome bassist
-
The Offspring "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
I'm guessing this wins BOS today.
-
The Offspring "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
BOS. I like the Offspring better than most of their era, though this is pretty much a novelty song.
-
The Offspring "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
That did it -- couldn't even stand the intro. I am out!
-
The Offspring "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
This set has been heavy on the R&R, which usually is a good thing, but by the late '90's the genre truly was dead, at least the mainstream portion of it.
-
WOS2 Moby.
-
Moby "Bodyrock"
-
WOS2 Moby.
BOS2 Moby :)
-
WOS2 Moby.
Yah. Can't get behind Moby. Even though he's a very funny guy. This song is just waiting for something to happen, but it never does.
-
Renee was just gettin' motivated... ::)
ETA: She forgot to mention RHCPs...

it's not their fault.. I blame the parents. :P

ETA: She forgot to mention RHCPs...
no, I heard her name-check them.
-
For once, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (in my opinion.) Probably due to a relatively low percentage of LN's.
-
Renee: 2-way tie for BOS - STP and Moby; VHM The Offspring

Dead air?
The replay featured some annoying noise here... I'm surprised they didn't edit it out.
-
Cranberries are really well named. They leave a tart taste in my mouth.
While it's probably over-exposed for many, I find Linger to be one of the sweetest and
loveliest songs I've heard in many years.

Funny you should mention that... I tuned into the replay just in time to hear that. Thought I had mistuned.

Concur. And I don't even though if it's overplayed.
