Dunno if Renee will be out again. Was hoping for a return of Hits From Hell; maybe we'll get a Dave Morey HFH encore?

My memory may be faulty, but the only DM encores I recall hearing since AL started have been
in the two week gap between her and RR. I will be quite surprised if they play one.

there were one or 2 others when AL was out unexpectedly (Thanksgiving Turkeys, iirc) but yeah, it's probably a long-shot.

Renee's out again but we're getting a "very special" 10@10 she put together for Friday the 13th. Or so Gory just said.

Another pre-recorded 10@10?
Where did Renee go? To officiate another wedding? ::)
-
TOTHK - Stevie Wonder "Superstition"
Renee is going the AL route today for the set.
-
"Superstition", a very obvious TOTHK.
-
"Superstition", a very obvious TOTHK.
So is it a repeat, or just a pre-recorded one?

A new pre-recorded one.
-
Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat "Lucky"
-
I don't consider having to hear Jazn Mrazzzz and Colbie Feistalike anything close to "Lucky". WOS1.
-
Whoa, this a puke-worthy lucky song.
-
Whoa, this a puke-worthy lucky song.
truly horrid.

Maybe the lucky songs are also Hits from Hell? Clever, eh?
-
Radiohead "Lucky"
-
Radiohead "Lucky"
BOS.
-
Radiohead "Lucky"
I'll call this a rarity, 10@10-wise. But that doesn't make it good.
-
Santana "Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen"
-
another obvious one: "Black Magic Woman", Santana version.
-
I like the creepy clip from Magic
-
Out of the first four, BOS Radiohead. Very prototypical late-90's medium range-alt.
-
another obvious one: "Black Magic Woman", Santana version.
Would you have preferred the Fleetwood Mac original?

I don't have a problem with the song per se, it just seems like an awfully lazy selection.
-
Elvis Costello "13 Steps Lead Down"
-
another obvious one: "Black Magic Woman", Santana version.
Would you have preferred the Fleetwood Mac original?
yes, and so would geoff have.
ooo! BOS1 and a nice surprise: Elvis C "13 Steps Lead Down" -- a possible bustout; certainly a raity.
-
The Simpsons take on The Raven into Eddie Floyd "Knock On Wood"
-
BOS2 the Simpsons version of "The Raven".
VHM "Knock on Wood"
-
Joan Armatrading "I'm Lucky"
-
not recognizing #7... EDIT: Thanks Capn!
-
Joan Armatrading "I'm Lucky"
BOS3 -- it's appeared in a number of "luck" sets over the years but still most welcome.
-
Joan Armatrading "I'm Lucky"
BOS. Accompaniment sounds a little like Tangerine Dream doing Haunted Mansion music.
-
so far... 3 good selections, 2 LNs, and 2 songs that happen to have a Friday the 13th word in their title.
-
Ryan Adams "Lucky Now"
-
Thomas Dolby does some synth work on Joan's album. I could see that.
-
Ryan Adams "Lucky Now"
An inoffensive NTM song.
-
The Verve "Lucky Man"
-
#9: "Lucky Man", Verve - no secret that I enjoy them.
-
I think the Verve have only appeared on 10@10 before with "Bittersweet Symphony". I've mentioned this many times before, but their Greatest Hits collection is great for road trips.
And in the TANC department, "Lucky Man" peaked at #9 on my personal chart in 1998.
-
Daft Punk (featuring Pharrell Williams) "Get Lucky" :o
-

What was that movie (?) quote? Strange.
-
And Daft Punk/Pharrell Williams close it out! If this doesn't cheer you up, there's no helping you.
-
Wonder if they're taking BOS votes today...
ETA: Guess not.

It is a delightful ditty, despite overexposure. But since I haven't been listening to Live 105 lately I haven't heard it much. A DC fave that was just starting to catch on when he left, and so disappeared from KFOG when he did.
