Gory is stoked that Renee is doing "this decade" so I'm guessing '90s.
and I'm right, for a change. No Doubt walkin' on a Spidahweb.
-
1995 - TOTHK - No Doubt "Spiderwebs"
I associate this song with '96 though...
ETA: I hope my recent '95 set(s) had some influence on today's set.

from your SoundCloud to Pugh's ear.

Movie clip (Kids?) into Folk Implosion "Natural One"
ETA: I associate this one with '96, but this debuted on the charts in late '95.
-
clip from Kids into "Natural One"
-
Huggies commercial into Garbage "Only Happy When It Rains"
I also associate this one with '96.
-
diaper commercial --> Garbage. Heh.
-
Damn! yesterday when I couldn't listen, it was '67. Today when I can, it's '95!
-
Friends clip --> the theme by the Rembrandts. I know folks were WAY sick of it back then but it's still a delightful pop ditty. VHM.
-
Friends/Mad About You crossover into The Rembrandts "I'll Be There For You (Theme From 'Friends')"
Renee really working on the between-song soundclips today.

I'll second that -- although I prefer the 1-minute (or was it 30-seconds) TV intro version

Agreed - VHM.

Radiohead "Fake Plastic Trees"
-
"Fake Plastic Trees"
-
Annie Lennox "Take Me To The River"
-
as versions of "Take Me To the River" go, Annie L's is behind Rev. Al's and T.Heads'. But it's the most off-the-beaten-path thing we've heard so far.

OMFG - My '95 set had some influence! The Jayhawks "Blue"
-
Didn't we just hear this song a few minutes ago when it was called "Fake Plastic Trees"?
-
OMFG - My '95 set had some influence! The Jayhawks "Blue"
BOS, tho' I'm thinking this is a case of "even a broken clock is right twice a day" (the broken clock being Renee, not you).
-
Unabomber into Bush "Glycerine"
Another song I associate with '96.
-
Unabomber into Bush "Glycerine"
WOS from me.
-
WOS2 "Lump"
-
The Presidents of the United States of America "Lump"
-
Jars Of Clay "Flood"
Yet another song I associate with '96...
-
WOS3 Jars of Clay. We were doing pretty well there for a while...
-
Will Jars Of Clay win BOS since it was played last? ;D
-
I liked the set well enough. Dug the Folk Implosion, Garbage, Bush, POT USA, and Jars of Clay back then. Haven't heard Flood in probably at least two years, although IIRC it was kind of a Dave fave. The Annie Lennox cover was kind of LN but I'll give it a pass since I haven't heard it before. Only major complaint is there were too many 95/96 standards and Radiohead, but what's new.
-
