I'm gonna guess late '70s today.
ETA: wrong. '83
-
Heard a promo this morning saying it was the year we were introduced to Sally Ride. Could be 1983 (although she joined NASA in '78).

amazingly it's been nearly 6 weeks since we did '83, so i'm sure you're right. Fingers crossed for a rarity or 3.

1983 TOTHK Burning Sensations "Belly Of The Whale"
-
I like Burning Sensations (the band, that is) as much as the next guy but I'm sure she played this fairly recently.
Mmmmm... bouillabaisse...
-
VHM Videodrome.
-
REM, "R.F.E." -- LN2.
-
R.E.M. "Radio Free Europe"
-
Yes "Changes"
-
Yes "Changes"
Yes!!
-
WOS Yes. I'd like to "Change" the station.
-
U2 "Surrender"
-
Yes "Changes"
Points for being something other than Owner of a Lonely Heart.
I would submit that, regardless of personnel and name, this band is not Yes.
-
U2 and REM in an 80s set this week...I'm experiencing deja vu. >:(
-
I'll BOS U2's "Surrender" for being a relative rarity.
(Yeah, the Yes tune was rare too -- compared to "OOALH" or "Leave it"-- but it also was fairly worthless IMHO)
-
SRV & Double Trouble "Love Struck Baby"
-
LN3 SRV.
-
LN4 "Major Tom" -- I'd give it points if it were the German version, but... no.
-
Peter Schilling "Major Tom"
-
The Call "The Walls Came Down"
-
good gawd: uber-uber-uber-LN The Call.
the only thing missing so far is "Come Dancing"
-
Culture Club "Karma Chameleon"
-
comma, comma, comma, chameleon -- the copywriter's anthem!
VHM Boy George & Co, tho' a diff song by them would've totally ruled.
-
Culture Club "Karma Chameleon"
BOS from me... such a great voice...
-
The Police "Synchronicity II"
-
and it ain't '83 without da po-po's.
a humiliating kick in the crotch, indeed.
-
The Police "Synchronicity II"
Overplayed, but Synchronicity was a great album -- The Police really went out with a bang.
-
Genesis "Home By The Sea"
-
"Home by the Sea" -- well, there's worse Genesis we coulda heard.
-
BOS, Belly of the Whale. A big time sledgehammer for me, takes me right back...
-
According to Renee, her vote would give The Call BOS. Without her vote, it's a 3-way tie for BOS: The Call, R.E.M. and U2.
