"oh I don't know, i'm still workin' on it"
Ziggy's well-hung. And over-played. LN1 Bowie.
-
TOTHK - Bowie "Ziggy Stardust" - 1972
-
VHM Bowie, if a tad less than necessary. I don't really tire of any song on the album.
-
proxy of geoff and VHM "Bare Trees", a bit of a frequent-flier the last couple of years, but still lovely.
-
Fleetwood Mac "Bare Trees"
-
Excellent start, by my reckoning. Love me some early 70s.
-
BOS FM !
-
Jo Jo Gunne "Run Run Run"
-
Little Feat "Easy To Slip"
-
Jo Jo Gunne "Run Run Run" is not fun fun fun at this point. But so far, so Moreyesque.
BOS da Feets, "Easy to Slip", a definite rarity.
-
Little Feat "Easy To Slip"
Great deep track choice!
-
OMFG: uber-BOS2 Randy Newman "Political Science", after that Vietnam newsclip. Impressive.
-
Randy Newman "Political Science"
I sense the new PD's influence...
Temptations "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", which wasn't in the dad's day set...
-
Renee makes up for not playing "Papa was a Rolling Stone" on Friday. heh.

"We'll leave Australia. Don't want to hurt no kangaroo."
Love that line.

I sense the new PD's influence...
Or is it simply the lack of DC's influence? Maybe Renee rocked all along, and Dennis was holding her back.
-
VHM this commercial montage, which sounds new to me.
BOS3 the 'oo, joining together. Jew's-harps rule!
-
Commercials medley into The Who "Join Together"

Ha! I joked about that on FB last week. Ain't that a kick in the head -- Renee as savior of 10@10.

Whoever is putting these sets together has been strongly influenced by DM's sets. Similar (if not some of the same) clips & segues, a lot of the same songs, although they've been pulling out a few songs that even Dave didn't play in his last 8 years on the air. Hell, they could even have Dave on retainer, programming sets in Michigan for play on KFOG.
Naaah.

So all that time spent with DM in the morning has rubbed off...

uber-BOS4 Todd -- "Couldn't I Just Tell You", one of the great inexplicable why-wasn't-this-a-huge-hit 45s of all time.
-
Here's my BOS. Todd, Couldn't I Just Tell You. One of the great 70s power pop anthems.

Yeah, what he said.

Wow.
And a lovely segue into "Angry Eyes". Full marks only for long version...
-
Holee crap: BOS5 L&M, "Angry Eyes", one of those FM staples of the time that you rarely hear anymore.
-
Loggins & Messina "Angry Eyes"
-
BOS, Todd. Which is weird, because I am not generally a big fan (guilty displeasure).

Peaked at #93 (!?!) in Billboard. For shame, America.
-
We've got long Eyes! (So much better than short eyes ;) ). I'm extremely pleased by this set.

There'll be no bitching about short songs today. If she'd play Heart of the Sunrise or something else from Fragile we could maybe end the set close to 11am.
-
Leon Russell "Tight Rope"
Kudos to Renee on a stellar set today!
-
Am I crazy or her delivery much more enthusiastic all of a sudden?
That was a fine fine set -- when it gets rerun in 3 months it will deservedly be a "classic".

Amazing stuff. Maybe the first time that I really didn't want it to end.

According to Renee, Loggins & Messina gets BOS in a landslide, with VHMs to Bowie, Todd & Leon.
