"the year Dan Quayle misspelled P-O-T-A-T-O-E"
a typical DC/RR set would include some obvious overplayed songs by U2, Cure, RHCP, Annie Lennox, REM, Spin Docs, unplugged Crapton, Peter Gabriel, Black Crowes, Pearl Jam, Toad/Sprocket, INXS... Oh and "Life is a Highway". So anything other than the above would give me hope.

prediction#1 comes true: "Life is a Highway Paved with LNs"

What's up, RGMike? I'm listening for the first time in awhile; don't think I'll be able to comment much.

hey there bub. ya missed a really good set yesterday -- first really outstanding one in ages, actually. This one I suspect will not be anywhere near that.
-
Sorry, I hate STPs , so WOS "Wicked garden", even tho' I'd call it a rarity.

So, Renee's got to be picking the songs now, eh? This choice says, "I'm so badass because I don't keep lists, and I like ST mu'fu'in P! Suck on that, haters!"

one for the snipes: BOS1 Broooooooooooce, "Human Touch"

Wow, with Renee picking? I'll have to peruse the setlist.

We assume the new PD has input. It was a '67 set that only someone who was there could've assembled.

Prediction #2 comes true: Annie walks on broken glass, hurts her ass. (I have such class!)

We're not certain who's compiling the sets actually; could be her but given yesterday's set's excellence I'd guess at the very least she has help from someone else. And given her lack of motivation to put much time into the show in the DC era, I'd be surprised if she'd done that big of an about face.

what this set needs now is a song that's not a frequent-flier.

Renee's gettin' badass again, whacking folk singers in the head with a hammer, or something. I like this song, though, unlike that shite STP.

Prediction #3: Black Crowes. WOS2 "Remedy". Sorry, never liked these guys much either.

I knew you'd hate this one. I'm being sarcastic in my posts here, but I'll give it up for Renee on the FB page for rockin' out. Vive le hypocrisy!

Prediction #4 : PG kisses dat frawg.
BTW, did anyone ID song 2? I missed that one.

Sounded like Mellencamp.

OMFG: proxy of beej, "Baby Got Back". BOS2 Sir Mix-a-Lot. Dat's whut AHM talkin' 'bout, yo!
Clearly, someone remembered that this won BOS when AL played it. That's a *good* thing and bodes well, IMHO.

Keith Richards, actually. Wicked as it Seems.
Sir Mix a Lot. How far will this go to redeem this set?
-
VHM Singles, leading to the inevitable Westerbreg. (see what i did there?)
"Dyslexics of the World Untie!"

Oops, I'd get excommunicated for that in some places.

Misspelled Westerberg? On purpose?
I thought Screaming Trees coming out of the Singles clip would have fit in nicely in this set, but folky Paul it is (again).

Oh . . . yeah . . .

"Oh, MAAAAN!"
"Baby Got Back" was a bright spot but overall I'd call this mediocre at best.
-
Sorry I wasn't around to do the live-as-it-happened setlist. Anyone hear who got BOS?

In my book, "Baby Got Back" doesn't improve any set, but that's just me. :P

Hee. This falls under the "even a rarity you hate is still a rarity" rule -- I felt that way about the STPs tune. "BGB" was the only goofy-pop, non-KFOG-staple here and I hope we get more of those in '90s sets.

Today's setlist, along with my good/necessary list:
1) Tom Cochrane - Life Is A Highway
A-/C
2) Keith Richards - Wicked As It Seems
B+/B+
3) Stone Temple Pilots - Wicked Garden
B/B+
4) Bruce Springsteen - Human Touch
B/B
5) Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass
B/C
6) Cracker - Teen Angst
A/A-
7) Black Crowes - Remedy
A/B
8) Peter Gabriel - Kiss That Frog
B+/B+
9) Sir Mix & Lot - Baby Got Back
D/A
10) Paul Westerberg - Dsylexic Heart
B-/B+
One of the best 90's sets in some time.
-
While not groundbreaking, this set was quite listenable. It had a blue collar sensibility.
This is Baby Got Back's 2nd appearance in the RR era. She played it in her first 1992 set.

Rockwell has been repeating the BOS winner after the 10pm replay. Today was a three-way
tie between The Bruce, Cracker, and (he thinks -- he had trouble reading Renee's writing)
Sir Mix-A-Lot.
