apparently we've got a whole month before Renee's next out-of-town trip.
TOTHK and BOS1: Zep.
-
BOS, "The Ocean", the mighty Led Zep.
-
Led Zeppelin "The Ocean"

the least unnecessary TOTHK in ages. I have a good feeing about this set.
-
Are You Being Served? -- nice choice.
Dr John in da right place.
-
Are You Being Served? into Dr. John "Right Place, Wrong Time"

Wonder if she'll have the presence of mind to include an All in the Family clip in memoriam of Jean Stapleton?
-
OK, methinks we heard both the Dr John and the ELP fairly recently.

"Brain Salad Surgery" two-fer.
-
ELP "Still... You Turn Me On" into Ringo's "Photograph"
-
VHM the Richards, Starkey and Perry, at a career peak with "Photograph"
-
OK, can't help but BOS Ringo doing George's Photograph. Somewhere I have the picture sleeve of this one.

That'll Be The Day into David Essex "Rock On"

Heh. I have the protagonists of this thing I'm writing listening to "BS Surgery" while performing it, not knowing that's what it's a euphemism for.
OK I really didn't need David Essex today
-
That'll Be The Day into David Essex "Rock On"
not a bad movie -- I finally caught it on cable a few years back.
-
BOS2 Jimmy Cliff.
-
Jimmy Cliff "Sitting In Limbo"
-
Gladys Knight and the Pips "Midnight Train To Georgia"
-
Whoo Whoo! Gladys changes the Midnight Plane to Houston into the Midnight Train to Georgia. Ooh y'all!
-
Taking the Midnight Train to Georgia from LA? He must not be in any rush to get there.
-
wow ELP and ELO in the same set. BOS3 "Showdown", which I've always liked.
-
ELO "Showdown"
-
Macca/Wings "1985"
-
for those keeping score, RR played the Gladys tune in Feb and the Dr John hit in March.
But OMFG: uber-BOS4 Macca, "1985," one of the great deep trax from BOTR.
-
Oh, Spiro. So very hard to go -- overplayed but a cute segue nonetheless.
-
Spiro Agnew/Richard Nixon/Gerald Ford into Tower of Power "So Very Hard To Go"
-
BOSTOP.
-
Pretty darned fine set, if not overly adventurous. But good enough...
-
That was more than decent, actually. More like that one please.
-
Pretty nice set, again very Moreyesque.
Wonder if they've exhausted their store of the DC-created sets yet?
-
Renee says Tower Of Power gets BOS.

it's so hard to tell anymore, since they're so erratic -- tomorrow we'll get a '90s set with 7 or 8 LNs that will totally suck. Whoever's in charge will no doubt continue to take old setlists and swap out the obscurities for consultant-friendly "classics".

I agree, nice se4t. Curious why you think it's Moreyesque? b/c it contains good music? (HEY-O!) or the specific cuts? I think Gladys & TOP are Sign O' Morey

Musically yes (the two you mentioned, but also Dr. John, ELO, and David Essex tracks were faves of his). Also the inclusion of a news-related clip instead of just pop culture and old adverts. And the Jimmy Cliff tune, while not one DM ever played during the shraytabase years, seemed to be the type of rarity he would have thrown in (and probably did, pre-2000).
-
Very good set, but I'll BOS the "Are You Being Served" clip. A staple on television while growing up.

The Law of Averages called with a message from his buddy, Normal Distribution: they say
that a couple of mediocre sets and one lousy one will be on their way shortly. (grin)

AL played it once, on February 25, 2011.
