That's the word from G-Snipes. Sounds like there must be a big-ass staff meeting with the new PD at 10:00. Hrm.
ETA: "The year Tetris was released". That would be... 1984?
well, Renee is right and Wiki is wrong I guess: 1991.
Honestly, I've no idea how she put Tetris and 1991 in the same sentence.

V-Femmes "Gone Daddy Gone", a decent TOTHK.
no no no, don't pass me over: didn't really need the BoDeans today.
-
1991 - Violent Femmes "Gone Daddy Gone"
BoDeans "Good Things"
-
Sting - "Soul Cages". Is this a newly recorded set? My search for a set with "Gone Daddy Gone" as song #1 came up empty.
-
Sting "The Soul Cages"
I think this is a new set from RR...
-
Is this bits and pieces of a Morey classic, glitch from track #1 aside? A search couldn't find anything like this in the AL or Renee eras, and the segue between Bodeans & Sting seemed unusually slick.
-
Magic Potty Baby! ROTFL!
-
SRV "Little Wing"
-

AL maybe, I didn't find anything in the Shraytabase from the Morey era. The promo I heard at 9:15 said Renee needed the morning off, so we were getting another encore set today, so I assume this is someone's past work.
-
uber-LN Petty, with a tattoo too. Et Tu?
-
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Into The Great Wide Open"
Maybe BP made RR do a new set today...

Unless she did something very un-Renee like and pre-recorded a set when she was going to be off.

Bonnie Raitt "I Can't Make You Love Me"
-

BOS Bonnie, still one of the best ballads of that decade, and written by an ex-NFL player.
-
VHM Dire Straits, tho' I prefer the Mary Chapin Carpenter version.
-
Dire Straits "The Bug"
-
U2 at the end of the world.
-
U2 "Until The End Of The World"
-
RHCP "Under The Bridge"
-
RHCP "Under The Bridge"
Nooooooooooooooo!! One of the most "uber" of uber-LNs.

I wonder if originally they were going to air a 1984 classic, but RR had a last minute change of heart (BP kick in the butt?) so a new 1991 set was done?
-
The Candyskins "For What It's Worth"
-
The Candyskins cover of "FWIW" was a Morey fave iirc.
-
RR goes to 11 with Jesus Jones "Right Here Right Now"
-
jeezus f--ing christ, it's jesus f--ing jones. even more "uber" than the RHCPs tune. This is a rather long set. Enuf already.
ETA: I see this is song #11 -- presumably the VFs tune will be edited out of the replay.

"have patience with me..." Renee, hon, our patience with you was exhausted 'round about mid-October.

Hey, at least she copped to it and didn't try to sweep it under the rug. Progress, however slight...

Renee sez Bonnie Raitt gets BOS in a landslide.

The g-snipes were all planning to vote for Violent Femmes just to mess with RR. Heh.
-
Checking out today's set on SoundCloud, and, yes, Renee has edited out the Violent Femmes. Too bad -- she didn't edit out Fleetwood Mac "Don't Stop" played in a 1987 back in February... ::)
-
The Sting & SRV tunes are first-timers. The Candyskins' FWIW has only appeared once before.
This apparently is a new set, not an encore.
BOS for SRV & U2 from me.
