Have I ever told my Freddy Jones Band story?

Other, better tracks from Pearl Jam "Versus":
* Dissident: stick to your morals or cave in?
* Rearviewmirror: one of the best breakup songs ever
This would be more fun if we got to put together our own list.

Well, old folk repeat their stories a lot, and I don't mean to bore.
Back in '93, my guitar company was pretty big in the jamband crowd. Since we made basses and guitars for the Grateful Dead, it seemed like most of the H.O.R.D.E. bands were using our stuff. We sold the Freddy Jones Band's bassist a bass, and they came by our shop/factory on 7th St. We were out on the shop floor, and KFOG was playing, and then..."Daydream" comes on. It was one of those cool moments where the band hears its hit song on the radio, etc. Nice and corny, and it was nice to be there at that moment.

I picture the scene from "That Thing You Do" when the Wonders (nee Oneders) gather in the appliance store and go apeshit when their song comes on the radio, with maybe a little less innocence and youthful exuberance. And guitars instead of refrigerators and televisions.

Well yeah, kind of like that!
