Renee: "Ross Perot runs for president".
ETA: I'd thought both '92 and '96 were in play here but as the cap'n correctly pointed out we just did '96 recently.
OMGWTFLOL: Renee thinks '93 was a presidential election year. God help us all.
ETA ETA infinity: despite some "1993" sounders (and songs!) she switched gears midstream and it became a 1992 set. Oy.
-
I would guess 1992, since Renee visited 1996 earlier this month.

ETA: Renee visited 1993 earlier this month! :o

Well, Ross Perot may have -- he was a persistant little guy. ;)

BNL "If I Had A Million Dollars"
The Ross Perot clip is from 1992... ::)
-
Sonia Dada "You Don't Treat Me No Good"
-
I'm only sticking round to the end to hear her spin on the goof-up. It better be good.
BOS Sonia Dada -- loved this album. Shame they just kinda fell off the face of the earth.
-
Sublime "Badfish"
-
WOS early Sublime.
-
BOS for Constant Craving, and the second accordion of the set.
-
"Constant Craving" is from '92, actually. What a f---ing trainwreck.
-
k.d. lang "Constant Craving"
-
Oh wow, the bumper said 1992!
Smashing Pumpkins "Drown"
Anyone checking the reactions on gsnipes?
-
and suddenly it's turned in to 1992! man, if I did my job this badly I'd be fired.
-
Not sure if it was intentional but if so, the segue from "If I Had A Million Dollars" into "You Don't Treat Me No Good" was definitely carried a bit of subtext. One of the members of Sonia Dada is Dan Pritzker, whose family owned the Hyatt Hotel chain, among other things. He lives in Kentfield, and is the owner of one of Jerry Garcia's guitars, "Wolf," which he paid something like $700K for when it was auctioned off several years ago. Needless to say--he has a million dollars several times over.
-
Smashing Pumpkins sounding good today.

1992 bumper again "My Cousin Vinny"...
Sugar "If I Can't Change Your Mind"
-
BOS2 My Cousin Vinny -- 2 utes!
VHM Sugar.
-
1992 bumper again "My Cousin Vinny"...
Sugar "If I Can't Change Your Mind"
I've never heard of these guys. Nice power pop.

R.E.M. "Everybody Hurts"
-
1992 bumper again "My Cousin Vinny"...
Sugar "If I Can't Change Your Mind"
I've never heard of these guys. Nice power pop.
Bob Mould, formerly of Husker Du.
VHM REM -- everybody hurts when they listen to Renee.
-
1992 bumper again "My Cousin Vinny"...
Sugar "If I Can't Change Your Mind"
I've never heard of these guys. Nice power pop.
Power trio led by Bob Mould, ex of Husker Du. Probably his most commercially successful project. And yes, great power pop.
-
and now 10KMs cover REM. Meh.
-
10,000 Maniacs "(Don't Go Back To) Rockville"
-
and now 10KMs cover REM. Meh.
Very unnecessary cover, nearly identical to the original, apart from the drony Natalie Merchant.
-

More evidence (as if we needed any) of how little energy Renee puts into 10@10. She really does seem to not give a shit.
I would love to know if she hears about it from above whenever these snafus occur. If it were any of us doing our jobs this badly I'm certain we would, but the fact that it keeps happening (in public) leads me to believe management doesn't care either.

Thomas Dolby "I Love You Goodbye"

-
Thomas Dolby "I Love You Goodbye"
BOS for me despite frequent plays.
-
so she's just gonna pretend she didn't mess up. Whatevs.
-
I wonder if they will edit this for tonight's rebroadcast.
-
BOS Dolby. I don't think we've gotten this in the Renee era yet, and only once in AL (although that one was repeated.)
-
Renee sez the buttons are close together. ::)
BOS Thomas Dolby, VHM 4 Non Blondes and R.E.M.
-
Renee sez the buttons are close together. ::)
As close to an admission of fucking up as we're likely to get.
And I'd bet the house on their re-editing this set before it gets posted or replayed.
-
and suddenly it's turned in to 1992! man, if I did my job this badly I'd be fired.
I skipped today, but now I kind of regret it. I need the comic relief the way my job is going today.

what was funny is that we got the "1993!" sounder at the top followed by 4 Non-Blondes, which is totally a 1993 song. It wasn't like the sounder was the only indicator... and the sounder got played several more times before she switched it and played songs that were undeniably from '92. I'd blame the intern. ;)
-
4 Non Blondes - What's Up?
Barenaked Ladies - If I had a Million Dollarss
Sonia Dada - You Don't Treat Me No Good
Sublime - Badfish
k.d. Lang - Constant Craving
Smashing Pumpkins - Drown
Sugar - If I Can't Change Your Mind
R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts
10,000 Maniacs - Don't Go Back to Rockville
Thomas Dolby - I Love You Goodbye
-
To be "fair" though, we regularly get "totally 1993" (or 1994 or 95, for that matter) songs in 1992 with Renee.
-
And I'd bet the house on their re-editing this set before it gets posted or replayed.
Just checked the website, and, indeed, all mentions of 1993 have been edited out and replaced with 1992.
-

Smashing Pumpkins "Drown"
Anyone checking the reactions on gsnipes?
It's about what one would expect.
Would you happen to be one?

Nope, just read about them on several threads on this forum.

Thomas Dolby "I Love You Goodbye"
BOS for me despite frequent plays.
It's actually been only once a year for the past few years or so, which doesn't seem that frequent
to me.
BOS from me as well.
VHM for the frequent flyers from k.d. kang and perhaps REM. Most of the rest just didn't
do much for me. I find that a lot with music from the past twenty years. I'm not entirely
sure what it is.
