Beware the Ides of Renee.
Could we be getting a St Pat's Weekend set? Irish bands? "Green" songs? "Luck" songs?
or, maybe it's a '60s day.
-
"Lee Trevino was the top golf money-winner"
gee, thanks.

Sounds like 1970

I'd be especially impressed if Belinda Carlisle were played today!

The Byrds "Chestnut Mare"
-
OMFG: "Chestnut Mare" -- amazingly, I don't think this has ever appeared on 10@10. BOS, easily.
a record that was an absolute staple of NYC prog-FM back then, and i always wondered why Dave never played it. better late than never.
BOS2 the orig "Sweet Jane"

Velvet Underground "Sweet Jane"

Dave Mason "Only You Know And I Know"
-
BOS3 "Only You Know & I Know".
-
BOS3 "Only You Know & I Know".
Great song. I really like Dave Mason of this era.
-
sadly, I have to bail for a meeting momentarily. But this has been pretty decent, despite a couple obvious FF/LNs.
VHM Don McLean's anti-drug PSA.
OMFG: 'SPRESS yo'self, suckahs! BOS4.
-
BOS for "Express Yourself". It's not what you look like when you're doing what you're doing. It's what you're doing when you're doing whatcha look like you're doing."
-
Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band "Express Yourself"
-
CCR "Long As I Can See The Light"

Lawd! BOS5 CCR "Long as I can See the Light" last BOS before I have to split, unfortunately.

Jes a good ol' gospel tune. Wonder if John was thinking of the Staple Singers when he wrote this one.
-
Grand Funk Railroad "I'm Your Captain (Closer To Home)"
-
I'll give a VHM for Dave Fave Grand Funk's "Closer to Home".

saw them at Madison Square Garden in Dec 1970. Won tix from WNEW-FM. We sat right in front of the speakers. I was deaf for 2 days.
Meeting cancelled, yay!

Renee sez GFR gets BOS, VHM to the Dead and The Temptations
-
BOS3 "Only You Know & I Know".
Great song. I really like Dave Mason of this era.
My BOS. Alone Together is a terrific album, and that's pretty much Dave "of this era". He'd never repeat the magic of this album, though he had solid moments here and there.
-
1. Ides of March - Vehicle
(Commercial - Doublemint)
2. Freda Payne - Band of Gold
3. The Byrds - Chestnut Mare
4. Velvet Underground - Sweet Jane
(TV: Jerry Rubin on Donahue)
5. The Temptations - Ball of Confusion
6. The Grateful Dead - Truckin'
7. Dave Mason - Only You Know And I Know
(anti-drug PSA: Don McLean "What do you do when the music stops?")
8. Charles Wright - Express Yourself
9. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long As I Can See The Light
10. Grand Funk Railroad - I'm Your Captain / Closer To Home
I'm gobsmacked by the appearance of "Chestnut Mare" -- I think it showed up on Ginger's late lamented KBCO 10@10 once, and maybe the Peak, but never on KFOG's. DC musta had it on a list. Maybe someone suggested it on his Friday night all-request thing.

Great album. How many of you have the multi-colored vinyl version?

Proxy BOS for Geoff: "Truckin"
Wouldn't have been my BOS. This is pretty LN in my world. Not a bad song mind you, just way overplayed by people that don't get it.

This would probably have been BOS for me. I'm thinking it has been played on 10@10, but I'm guessing the entropy of the situation has put the Shraytabase way out of sync.
