The "Chevy Van" one-hit-wonder actually died in Jan; I just found out today.

Although that song is an HFH for me, he did write country hits for others. And per the above article, that line I always mondegreened as "Like a picture she was lyin' there..." (or "Like a pitcher...") was actually "Like a princess..." (!)
