the clue was something about the invention of that little plastic thingy that goes in the pizza box to protect the pie from the top of the box (you, know -- it looks like Barbie lawn furniture). I'm not making this up, i swear.

Well, I will admit that's a helluva-lot better than quoting the price of gas.

Clue from Tim: Crocodile Dundee - 1986?
Greg's clue: Joan Rivers late night show on Fox.
Wow - Tim and Greg's clues were wrong!
-
TOTHK - Nick Lowe "I Knew The Bride"
-
Oy: Nick Lowe's Huey-produced remake of "IKTB(WSUTRnR)" WOS1.

-
Oy: Nick Lowe's Huey-produced remake of "IKTB(WSUTRnR)" WOS1.
Huey's a genius.
You know way more about this track than I do: I just thought it sounded good this morning.
-
The Hooters "All You Zombies"
-
VHM Hooters. The band, not the restaurant.
-
Oy: Nick Lowe's Huey-produced remake of "IKTB(WSUTRnR)" WOS1.
Dave Edmunds' original is much better - 1977?

I've always preferred Lowe's original. Never had much use for this version.
I assume he has substituted "iPod" for "walkman" in any more recent version.
-
Jeff Beck / Rod Stewart "People Get Ready"
-
BOS, Jeff and Rod, "People Get Ready"
-
Rod & Jeff: always nice, but we've def heard it recently. VHM.
-
Wang Chung "To Live And Die In L.A."
-
Rock has AIDS --> "To Live & Die in LA" Segue of the Week! And BOS Wang Chung.
-
BOS Wang Chung.
LOL @ the GS's saying the segue was tasteless.
Sobering is more like it.
-
Pete Townshend "Face The Face"
-
Pete faces his face. or something.
-
OMD "So In Love"
-
VHM OMD "So in Love", tho' I'd prefer "Secret" once in a while.
-
BOS2 OMD, though I can see this turning into a FF in the DC/RR era.
-
Mike + The Mechanics "All I Need Is A Miracle"
-
all we need is a bustout. But M + the M's ain't it.
-
This segue also worked.

BOS3
-
Aretha Franklin "Freeway Of Love" in her pink Cadillac
-
Ree-Ree takes a ride. Best Mondegreen of set: "never you mind the exercise"
Bonus points for the loooong version.
-
BOS4. This has turned out to be a very nice set.
-
The Power Station "Some Like It Hot" preceded by Wendy's "Where' The Beef?"
-
The Power Station "Some Like It Hot"
Never grows old with me, but I've been itching for their version of "Get It On (Bang A Gong)" for THIIS long.
-
Some Like it Hawt. I prefer a couple of cool bustouts. I'd call this set pleasant but pedestrian, another DM-meets-AL thing.
-
I would have preferred a less LN way to end the set, but I'll still take it.
-
Pleasant But Pedestrian... a PBP. Somebody add it to the glossary!
-
Renee sez 2-way tie for BOS (Godley & Creme / Power Station), VHM to OMD.
