"The year Christie Brinkley and valley girls ruled" sez Renee. Well, Zappa's "Valley Girl" charted in '82 but the movie Valley Girl came out in '83.
ETA: we just did '83 two weeks ago, so I guess that means '82 -- but then again this is Renee we're talking about.

Wall of Voodoo "Mexican Radio"
-
OK, I suppose "Mexican Radio" came out (LP-wise) in '82 but I associate it with '83, which is when it charted, thanx to MTV.
-
Donald Fagen "The Nightfly"
-
wow: BOS "The Nightfly". Probably our rarity-of-the-day. Wherethehell is "Mt Belzoni", anyway?

"Jazz and conversation" will do that. ;)

Ha! Victor/Victoria was on TCM last nite. A great flick and a Morey fave.
-
ABC with their debut hit, "The Look Of Love".
Renee is apparently not aware of this site.

ABC "The Look of Love"
-
BOS2 ABC, sounding quite fab to my ears today.
-
BOS Victor/Victoria. Almost watched this over the weekend (best thing about Oscar time is the quality of TCM movies prior to the show), but decided it was far less than necessary. I love the movie, but have seen it plenty. I should have tuned in at the end for Robert Preston's finale ...

I posted the last trip to 1982 on the KFOG page and her response was something to the effect of "Wow, I don't even keep track of what I play!"
-
The Who "Eminence Front"

ah. well if her memory is that bad, then her grasp of music is worse than we thought, since she keeps playing the same tunes repeatedly.
Reagan puts up an Eminence Front -- but it's a put-on, yo.
-
It's an M&Ms Front!
-
Eddy Grant walks down to Electric Avenue
-
It's an M&Ms Front!
Better an M&M's front than Eminem's.
uber-LN Eddy Grant.
-
And the pleasant-but-unnecessary streak continues with Duran Duran.
-
uber-uber-LN "Hungry Like the Wolf".
-
Duran Duran "Hungry Like The Wolf"
-
Rodney Dangerfield KFOG promo
-
Rodney sez KFOG doesn't play "the same old burn-outs"... and we get "Bang on the Drum." Oh, irony thy name is Renee.

she don't get no respect. And with good reason.
uber-uber-uber-LN: Dolby and Miss Sakamoto. This has really gone off the rails into Katrina Ravine-a.
something like half of these were '82 releases that didn't actually chart as hits until '83.
I love the Jam but "Town Called Malice" yet again? sheesh.
-
Repeat time: The Jam "Town Called Malice"
-
Repeat time: The Jam "Town Called Malice"
and she had the last '82 set right in front of her on FB. Good gawd.
