Title: 19 Feb 2013: it's... 1982
Post by: RGMike on February 19, 2013, 08:34:24 AM
"The year Christie Brinkley and valley girls ruled" sez Renee. Well, Zappa's "Valley Girl" charted in '82 but the movie Valley Girl came out in '83.

ETA: we just did '83 two weeks ago, so I guess that means '82 -- but then again this is Renee we're talking about.

OK, I suppose "Mexican Radio" came out (LP-wise) in '82 but I associate it with '83, which is when it charted, thanx to MTV.

BOS Victor/Victoria.  Almost watched this over the weekend (best thing about Oscar time is the quality of TCM movies prior to the show), but decided it was far less than necessary.  I love the movie, but have seen it plenty.  I should have tuned in at the end for Robert Preston's finale ...

I posted the last trip to 1982 on the KFOG page and her response was something to the effect of "Wow, I don't even keep track of what I play!"

ah. well if her memory is that bad, then her grasp of music is worse than we thought, since she keeps playing the same tunes repeatedly.

Reagan puts up an Eminence Front -- but it's a put-on, yo.

Better an M&M's front than Eminem's.

uber-LN Eddy Grant.

she don't get no respect. And with good reason.

uber-uber-uber-LN: Dolby and Miss Sakamoto.  This has really gone off the rails into Katrina Ravine-a.

something like half of these were '82 releases that didn't actually chart as hits until '83.

I love the Jam but "Town Called Malice" yet again? sheesh.
