the "clue" apparently involves the founding of Apple, but with Renee that could mean anything. It's been a lot longer since we've done '76, however: 11/14/12, as opposed to 1/4/13 for '77.

Predictions: Steve Miller, Foreigner, Boston, Rod Stewart, Fleetwood Mac, Boz Scaggs, Stevie Wonder, EWF.
here's the last one, from Nov:
1. Boz Scaggs Lido Shuffle
2. Chicago If You Leave Me Now
3. ABBA Dancing Queen
4. Bob Dylan Hurricane
5. Rod Stewart Tonights The Night
6. Warren Zevon Poor Poor Pitiful Me
7. Wild Cherry Play that Funky Music
8. Al Stewart Year of the Cat
9. Genesis A Trick of the Tail
10. Stevie Wonder I Wish
If the repeat song (which sadly is becoming a common occurrance) is "Dancing Queen" I may go postal.

Doobies takin' it to the streets

Elvin Bishop fooled around and fell in love
-
Have it YOUR way, Elvin Bishop: make Mickey Thomas sing lead on your biggest hit.
-
Elvin Bishop fooled around and fell in love
Mickey Thomas when he was good. If only we'd known what he'd become...
-
Don't take Steely Dan alive
-
A big BOS for the Dan.

he's like a cat and a mouse... door-to-door and house-to-house. Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talkin' about!
VHM the Dan, being taken alive. Luckless pedestrians indeed.

Manhattans kiss and say goodbye
-
Manhattans "Kiss/Say G'Bye" without the spoken intro is like Sonny without Cher. But perhaps the only soul we get today.
-
Manhattans kiss and say goodbye
This is BOS-worthy, VHM for the Dan.

Manhattans kiss and say goodbye
Haven't heard this in quite a while. I wouldn't have known who it was, but I just noticed that the Triton player tells you now. Pretty cool.
-
Uh oh - 1st repeat - Rod Stewart "Tonight's the Night"
-
Repeater #1--let your inhibitions run wild!

they FINALLY (after, like, 3 months) got their Now Playing widget to work.
Jeezus effing Christ: the repeat song is uber-LN "Tonight's the Night". Honestly why does this have to happen every day when there's a HUGE pool of songs to choose from?
-
Manhattans kiss and say goodbye
This is a different group of people than the Manhattan Transfer, right?
Here's your Rod, RGMike (Tonight's the Night).

Steve Miller flies like an eagle

My 2nd prediction comes true: Steve Miller flies like his ego. or something.
-
Steve Miller flies like an eagle
I've always liked this song, but it really highlights Steve's lameness as a lyricist.

After a couple of decent songs, we seem to have descended rapidly into the LN portion of the set.

indeed. And this one is Shakepeare compared to "Abracadabra"

Hey now, this is a meaningful social comment on preserving the Great Society in the face of an on rushing Conservative wave.

HFH - Afternoon Delight by the Starland Vocal Band -- how I miss Dave Morey's Friday the 13th sets!
-
OY: "Afternoon Delight". RR continues the AL tradition of playing HFHs in regular sets.
-
HFH - Afternoon Delight
This one definitely says summer of 1976. What, Silly Love Songs next? Or George Benson?

"How's the people? Living in the street?"
-
HFH - Afternoon Delight
The best version of this song was Anchorman's a Capella rendition.
For such an adult contempo song, this sure has some raunchy lyrics.
-
Yikes - another repeat - Stevie Wonder "I Wish"
-
Repeater #2: I Wish by that little nappy-headed boy.
-
Yikes - another repeat - Stevie Wonder "I Wish"
Clearly this is being done on purpose. But... WHY???

Now we just need the Seal version to appear in a 1996 set. Don't hold your breath, although one of the other 10@10's played it as part of a cover set.

It was the 70s -- fern bars were all the rage and AIDS had not yet surfaced.

AL
I wish those days could come back once more
Why did those days ever have to go?

Peter Frampton "Baby I Love Your Way"

Yeah, it's been discussed, but I hope that KFOX gave her a huge bag of $$$$. Because it's left KFOG and its listeners in a far worse place.

Peter Frampton "Baby I Love Your Way"
"Thank YEW!!" another of the uber-LNs of all time. *sigh*

And the college glee club wouldn't only have sex between classes, they would also write a song about it.
They were probably listening to Baby, I Love Your Way whilst making WHOOPEE.

Don't go breaking Elton John/Kiki Dee's hearts
-
VHM EJ & KD. But man, this has been some weak tea today.
-
Don't go breaking Elton John/Kiki Dee's hearts
Yeah, I was wondering who that dude was singing with Kiki Dee. Whatever happened to him?
-
Don't you dare go breaking out of the charts?
-
No, Renee, you don't get "extra points" for playing Elton & Kiki.
-
Renee: "Man!"
-
Renee: "Man!"
No kidding. DC needs to talk to her about coming up with a few new things to say, cause she hasn't had an original thought since about 2007.

Which I think pisses us off almost more than anything about the switch.... the fact that she just doesn't give the impression that she cares.

Her "enthused" mode has always seemed fake to me, going back to her Morning Show years. But as I've said before, 10@10 was a labor of love and a creative outlet for both Dave and AL. Now it's just ten songs and some hastily-assembled clips.

And that's why, when a lot of us were ready to hate on Annalisa when she took over, we found we had entirely misjudged the girl. She showed a passion for it that we couldn't mistake or ignore, and we ended up loving her and her "art." Somehow I doubt Renee (or DC) consider this art.

-
With the passing of Donald Byrd, it would have been nice if The Blackbyrds "Happy Music" was played in this 1976 set.
