Well, Tim said it was the year of The Groove Tube, the pre-SNL spoof that starred Chevy Chase.

BOS1/proxy of Gaz & Geoff "Ride the Tiger", not the rarity it once was, but still stellar.

I wanna riiiiide, riiiiide Rod Steiger!
-
F.Mac, "Heroes are Hard to Find" also no longer a rarity -- am I nuts or has Renee played both these songs before (and she's only done a couple of '74 sets since October).
ETA: apparently not.
LN: Stones, a *serious* non-rarity.
-
It's only 10@10, but . . . I like it?
-
BOS2 Joni, "Court & Spark".
"you complete me/I complete you" -- so *that's* where Cameron Crowe stole that from.
-
BOS2 Joni, "Court & Spark".
nice

Is this the same Jimmy Buffett song that was on a few weeks ago?
It is: A Pirate Looks at Forty
Not as refreshing the second time around
-
VHM Mr Buffett before he became a cliche.

damn, you're right -- kind of unforgiveable, even if I didn't remember.
-
LN2: BadCo, doo-wacka-doo.

It's not showing up in searches, either. Maybe it was on another show.

BOS Bad Co. Some buddies of mine brought them up last week and I was playing cranky pants on them, so I'm making up for it today. It wasn't terribly necessary, but I haven't heard it in quite some time and it sounded good this morning.
-
Carl Carlton "Everlasting Love"
-
I'll BOS Everlasting Love, just 'cause Renee doesn't pull out too much R&B from this era ever. It's doing it for me today.
-
VHM Carl Carlton; ditto the Mighty 'Berries, LN-ish tho' "Hit Record" may be.

I found it -- November 29, 2012. That seems a bit close together, even though the track in general is not overly overplayed.

So Cap'n Jack -- are you a Billy Joel fan, or did you grow up in NYC in the '60s, or both?

I watch too much NCIS. Whenever Gibbs talks to the Captain of a ship he calls him Skip, short for Skipper. Just being goofy.

uber-uber-uber-LN: Iggles.

I think this is really a pretty good song. Especially loud.

I thought it was a *great* song in '74 -- I like nasty break-up songs. But it is one of the band's most overexposed hits.

I'm a bit of a Billy Joel fan, but I didn't grow up in the '60s in NYC.
FYI, almost commented on the Jimmy Buffett tune by saying "ARRRR!", but since it was played in the previous '74 set, I held back... ::)

tuning in to the replay to hear the first two cuts I missed this morning. Great start, perhaps tune out after this to avoid a letdown!
