Broooooooooooce -- "We Shall Overcome"
Good one. Not sure I've heard this before.
-
Chrissie/Moodswings "State of Independence (MLK mix)" -- proxy of Geoff.
-
BOS Chrissie/Moodswigs. Hopefully let it play into MLK
-
Here it comes!
-
[old fart retelling story]
I went to the Lincoln Memorial with a Discman, listened to this right there; so powerful.
-
BOS for Queen doing their best AC/DC impression. NTM.
-
never heard this Queen song before; sounds like Alice Cooper!
-
Holy crap! Queen, "One Vision". BOS and a nice addition I must say.
-
and the inevitable but necessary U2.
-
Did he say "give me fried chicken" at the end. Heehee.
-
I'm sure "Pride" is LN for some, but for me, I always think of the birth of our third child, Sonja. Grace, the middle child (almost 2 yrs old) instantly recognized the song from the first notes.
-
Hey, another new one from Ben Harper. Cool sound. I'll give it a BOS.
-
WOW: Ben Harper, "Like a King" BOS2FRA and a bustout methinks.
-
I prefer Moms Mabley of course, but still like the schmaltzy Dion. Nice bass line.
-
awwww: Dion, "AM&J"
-
BOS3 Patty Griffin "Up to the Mountain", which AL played last year and was NTM then.

I'll second that. PG is awesome.

JT sheds a little light, another one that made its 10@10 debut last year.

I wonder who he's singing with. It's a weird arrangement, like he's guest-starring on Glee.
-
Sam Cooke, cue the goosebumps
-
Sam is cookin'. BOS4.

Ha! I had the same thought. They seem a little too white to be a gospel choir.
-
Sam sends me.
-
1. Happy Birthday - Stevie Wonder
2. We Shall Overcome - Bruce Springsteen
3. Spiritual High (State of Independence) - Chrissie Hynde/Mood Swings
4. One Vision - Queen
5. Pride (In The Name of Love) - U2
6. LIke a King - Ben Harper
7. Abraham, Martin and John - Dion
8. Up to the Mountain - Patti Griffin
9. Shed a Little Light - James Taylor feat the whitest gospel choir ever
10. A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke
-
technically, it's two tracks:
"Spiritual High (State of Independence) Part II"
"Spiritual High (Part III)"
-
Seems like a pretty damn good set - I'll try to catch the replay. I don't know that I'd call the U2 track LN... more like "overly obvious, but certainly appropriate".

Sam sends me.
