Renee's a girl in trouble, all right. instant LN Romeo Void.
-
VHM "Purple Rain" -- preferable to "When Doves Cry" or "Let's Go Crazy" at this point
WTF is up with the early fade-out??
(ETA: RR apologized for playing the "radio edit")
-
BOS UB40, "If It Happens Again" -- closest to a rarity we'll get, probably.
-
Holy crap: Stevie's "I Just Called to Say I Love You" -- a HFH for many, but It's certainly a rarity here.
(ETA: indeed, just one appearance in the Morey era -- in a HFH set)
WTF is this computer-synth coda? Does RR ever preview tracks before she plays them? Sheesh.
-
uber-uber-LN2: Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now"
-
WOS Glenn Frey, "Smuggler's Blooze". Time to snooze.
-
HM VH, "I'll Wait"
-
HM VH, "I'll Wait"
Angel is the centerfold.
-
LN3: TalkTalk.
-
Brooooooooooooce! "he's bigger than the Jacksons". LOL!
But "Dancing in the Dark" is LN4 nonetheless.

and we close (?) with another frequent-flier: "Tenderness".
-
BOS for The Beat.

BOS for The Beat.
I assume you meant General Public ;)
1. Romeo Void - Girl In Trouble
2. Prince - Purple Rain [radio edit]
(News: Union Carbide chemical leak in Bhopal)
3. UB40 - If It Happens Again
4. Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Love You
5. Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now
(Commercial medley: Alpha Beta, B of A, Lowenbrau)
6. Glenn Frey - Smuggler's Blues
7. Van Halen - I'll Wait
8. Talk Talk - It's My Life
9. Bruce Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark
10. General Public - Tenderness
-
uber-uber-LN2: Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now"
:)

More of a hit-laden set than yesterday (only UB40's effort did not hit the Top 40).
Good/necessary:
1. A/B
2. B/B
3. C/B
4. F/B
5. A/C
6. A-/B
7. B/B
8. B+/B
9. B/C
10. B/C
No real "haaaay" moments, but not too shabby either.
-
6. A-/B
ah, YOU'RE the one who actually likes "Smuggler's Blues". ;)
I consider a lot of these less necessary than you do; and Renee gets a big goose-egg for that radio edit of "Purple rain". That extra-long mix of the Stevie Wonder is certainly rare, and certainly awful.

You're in a good mood today....

I loved and love that song and album, but with the elongated ending, isn't the song, like, 27 minutes long? She didn't cut it right after the vocal ended, did she?

It faded right before he starts his big guitar work-out.
