Title: 14 Dec 2012: it's... 1992

Per the clues (Joey Buttafuco, anyone?) that appears to be the case. Think I'll pass on this one.

Apart from the mega-LN "Runaway Train", it actually wasn't a half-bad set:

1. Tom Petty - Christmas All Over Again
(TV: Nickelodeon when they played good cartoons. Now they play shit)
2. Stereo MCs - Connected
3. Neil Young - Unknown Legend
(News: Young people called apathetic, but they don't really care.)
4. James - Born Of Frustration
5. Roy Orbison ft. kd lang - Crying
6. Soul Asylum - Runaway Train
7. Leonard Cohen - Waiting For The Miracle
(News: Moonbeam lets us know we need nukes and we need them now)
8. Peter Gabriel - Steam
9. INXS - Not Enough Time
10. The Cure - A Letter to Elise

once again, kudos on a holiday tune -- is this gonna be a regular thing for the next week? I hope so.

But I'd call 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9 LNs -- maybe not quite as bad as "Runaway train", but certainly frequent-fliers.  (And FYI, I tend to edit Aaron's comments when I post the setlists here -- sometimes he's funny, sometimes not and often he doesn't state what the actual clip was)

As much as I hate Track 3, it has no spins from the AL era.  I like the INXS song.  The apathy > James segue was well played.

Ok. I don't have that level of discipline.

I think I would say that 2 and 8 might qualify as FFs, but not LNs. I don't believe either gets much regular airplay nowadays.

In my mind an LN implies either:

a) Part of KFOG's/103.7/Kiss 98.1's/generic yeesh and sheesh station's regular setlist

OR

b) really adds nothing to a set, even if it's not necessarily a frequent flier or a song with regular airplay (i.e. "All Star").
