Title: 26 Nov 2012: it's... 1991
Post by: RGMike on November 26, 2012, 09:29:40 AM
They just ran a promo. "The Year Pee-Wee Herman was arrested for doing something naughty in a movie theater"

I think I'll pass, thanks.

REM's Radio Song, Give It Away by RHCPs, and Christina Amphlett touching herself, interposed by a clip from Cape Fear.  Not bad so far.

BOS, song number 4.  I don't know who it is, but I like it.

ETA:  Something about chocolate cake and Tammy Baker, fwiw.

The snoozy rarity strikes again, this time with Joni Mitchell.

Points for rarity to whoever chose this, but yeah, not exactly a high point in her catalog.

Seems to be Chocolate Cake by Crowded House.

I'd've sworn Dave played that one but apparently not.  So that and Joni makes 2 bustouts, amazingly

If Dave didn't I think AL did. But I'd swear it had popped up once or twice in the DM era too.

Nevermind, you're right.  I just did a quick search and it has gotten a couple of spins.

Very surprising if DM never played it. Seems so familiar.

BOS for Blur.

Certainly don't need to hear this lame Sting song.

I'm liking this Sarah McLachlan song. Not one I'm familiar with.

I like this pre-McLesbian Sarah song too.  It was a request I got in with AL awhile back in '92, though apparently this was released in Canada in 91.

Pre? I guess I don't know her history. Did she come out at some point and change her music?

2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away
(Movie - Cape Fear - "Every man has to go through hell to reach his paradise")
3. Divinyls - I Touch Myself

4. Crowded House - Chocolate Cake
5. U2 - Mysterious Ways
6. Joni Mitchell - Come In From The Cold
7. Blur - There's No Other Way
8. Sting - All This Time

There's not really any history to speak of, but (in my opinion) everything she's released starting with Surfacing & Fumbling Towards Ecstacy has sounded so much more lesbian than Solace & Touch.

Ahh, I see. I didn't know anything about her until FTE came out, so I guess I'm not hip to that comparison.
