Something Wild was a great 1986 movie. I'm not so sure about this tune following the clip. I think it's Billy Idol.

I haven't heard those Berlin or Billy Idol songs in awhile, but I wonder how many more hits they'll keep on plowing through before they start repeating them all.

I know there's a lot of competition, but this set is a contender for most boring ever.

No argument from me. "Dear God" indeed.

1. The Bangles - Manic Monday
2. Steve Winwood - Higher Love
3. The Smiths - Panic
4. Berlin - Take My Breath Away
(Movie: Something Wild)
5. Billy Idol - To Be A Lover
6. The Smithereens - Blood and Roses
(Commercial - McDonald's tries a rap commercial. Fails miserably)
7. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle
8. Joe Cocker - You Can Leave Your Hat On
(News: Reagan)
9. XTC - Dear God
10. Eurythmics - Missionary Man

"Just Like Starting Over" and "Bittersweet Symphony" have already been played more than once - in separate years.

As far as "Most Boring Set Ever"... I wouldn't quite go that far (that Earth Set oh so many years ago, for which Dave had a guest would still 'win' that honor), but yeah, this lacked the "hey!" factor:

1 B/C
2 B/D
3 B/B
4 C/C
5 B/D
6 B/B
7 B/C
8 B/D
9 A/B+
10 B/B

Actually, on paper, this doesn't look too bad. Probably less than the sum of its parts, though.

I worship the Smiths but "Ask" and "Panic" were pretty much the only Smiths songs Dave ever played, and of course AL played "Panic" a bunch too. Yet another list of songs DC got from his "over-researched classics" database, clearly.
