My plea for "more theme sets" has been heard!

Apparently Renee went home sick after Monday's 10@10 and Rosalie swooped in to sub. So it may be a Rosalie-hosted Election set which would be nice.
-
Death's "Politicians In My Eyes" would redeem the entire Icky/DC/Renee era to date. I'm not holding my breath, though.

For the sake of perspective, here are the two Election Day sets that Dave did in 2004 and 2008, respectively. A couple songs appear in both but both are pretty solid sets, and I seem to recall that the clips accompanying them were very pointed and well-chosen, as one would expect. I'm guessing that regardless of who is at the board for tomorrow's set we'll hear at least a couple of these.
November 2, 2004:
1. Alice Cooper Elected
2. Creedence Clearwater Revival Fortunate Son
3. Pete Townshend Won't Get Fooled Again
4. Bruce Springsteen Chimes of Freedom
5. Clash Know Your Rights
6. Chi-Lites (For God's Sake) Give More Power To The People
7. Grateful Dead U.S. Blues
8. Neil Young Rockin' In The Free World
9. Temptations Ball of Confusion
10. Beatles Revolution 1
November 4, 2008:
1. Emerson, Lake & Palmer Fanfare for the Common Man
2. John Farnham You’re the Voice
3. Todd Rundgren Just One Victory
4. X The New World
5. Alice Cooper Elected
6. Thunder Clap Newman Something in the Air
7. Green Day American Idiot
8. Laura Nyro Save the Country
9. Beatles Revolution
10. Pete Townshend Won't Get Fooled Again

Currently listening to Arcadia's "Election Day", which would seem appropriate, but has been ignored.

we'll surely hear Alice Cooper; I'm sure we'll get Cream's "Politician" too. And If Eighties Gurl Renee has anything to say about it, "Election Day" by Arcadia.

I'm sure you're right about the first two. I was a little surprised when I posted those past setlists that Politician wasn't on either. But there were several better choices, so props to Dave for making them.
-
Joe Walsh to start. Renee has a "cough syrup hangover" said one FB wag.
-
BOS1 the Byrds! VHM clip from Election.
obvious choice but BOS2 anyway: Cream.
-
BOS1 the Byrds!
I heard this an hour ago on KPIG's "Make the Connection". Yep, politicians.
-
Also obvious: Alice C. This is the 3rd time I've heard this in the last week.

Yep, but not sure what the origin is. Maybe a Bridge Concert collection?
This is turning out to be a pretty good set. A few obvious choices, but some good picks too (Cohen, Newman, Patti, Lennon).

I'll have to listen to this tonight, but it's amazing how much better the themed sets have been compared to the year sets (granted it's only the second theme set of the RR era).

Listened. Combined with the halo effect of Obama's re-election, it sounded sweet indeed.
